After hanging up the phone, the principal took a glance at Lemira and said, “We’ve looked into it, and it turns out the stuff on the online forum was indeed false rumors, nothing to do with you.”
The supervisor chimed in, “What about those locked smartphones, then?”
That was the real issue at hand.
None of the professors from the Computer Science department could crack Lemira’s mini program, feeling as if they’d been slapped in the face. They couldn’t believe a freshman’s code stumped them.
The principal coughed and said, “Since the post was spreading false rumors, not based in reality, then those who joined in on bashing Lemira indeed owe her an apology!”
Cemira was surprised by the principal’s response. Was it over just like that?
earing the principal, the supervisor didn’t know what else to say. Was this going too easy on Lemira for her actions?
At that moment, the teacher approached Lemira, “Lemira, what exactly did you hide in that program you wrote for the school forum? We spent all afternoon and evening trying to crack your code but to no avail!”
This was her reason for being in the office. Pure curiosity!
Lemira glanced over, “It’s quite simple. If you have a computer, I can show you.”
The principal stood up, “Use my laptop. I’m curious too. A freshman managing to befuddle our computer science professors is unheard of.”
Lemira walked over to the computer, her fingers dancing across the keyboard as she opened the school forum. She directly wrote a code and then began to dissect her mini program!
After her explanation, the teacher let out a wry smile, “So that was it. Your clever trick is something most wouldn’t think of. Lemira, did your family ever get you extra tutoring?”
The principal turned to Lucian, “Mr. Langston, how did you raise this child? Our school has many top students, but we’ve only come across someone as gifted as Lemira until now.”
Lucian’s face was a mix of emotions. He smiled bitterly, “I believe she taught herself all of this.”
The family had never provided any special training for Lemira. If anything, they held her back!
Lemira stood up from the laptop. To her, this was all not difficult, for she had learned much of it in her past life.
The teacher was pleased, “Lemira, for someone as gifted as you, the school offers specialized training programs. Would you be interested?”
“She’s not going!” Lucian quickly refused on her behalf, and then told Lemira, gazing at her, “This special course should be at the Business School, meant for the elite.”
But Lemira had conflicts with the Sinclair family. If she attended classes at the Business School, she might be bullied!
“Of course, it’s up to Lemira herself.”
Lemira calmly declined, “Indeed, I don’t feeling like going.”
The principal tried to persuade her, “If you’re worried about your previous issues with the Business School, I can help sort them out.”
“Really, it’s fine. I appreciate your kindness. Even without so–called elite education, I can still outshine them!” Lemira’s tone was serene yet bold.
She had hoped to enjoy a low–key college life. But circumstances demanded otherwise!
After finishing her piece, she left the principal’s office, certain that the issue was solved.
Lucian followed her, “Sis, can we talk?”
“Don’t call me that. I’m not your sister!”
Lemira’s eyes dripped with impatience. She hurried down the stairs, only to run into Evelina at the landing.
Evelina wore a smug look, “Lemira, did the principal discipline you? Told you to apologize early, but you wouldn’t listen!”
“Lemmy didn’t do anything wrong. Why should she apologize?” Lucian defended, coming down after her.
Evelina’s face turned pale with shock. What was Lucian doing here?
