Lemira stepped into the classroom, scanning for a seat. Despite a couple of empty ones, it seemed they were all “taken“.
“Sorry, this seat’s taken.”
Lemira could sense it – she was being ostracized.
With no other option, she made her way to the center seat of the first row, a spot where no one would choose. Because it was impossible to sneak peeks at the phone and most likely to be called to answer questions; thus, basically nobody was willing to sit at the first row.
Class flew by in a blur.
Lemira walked out of the classroom alone, while on her way back to the dorm, she saw various clubs pitching to newcomers.
“Hey, wanna join our Cosplay Club? We’ve got the hottest members.”

As Lemira spotted that the Orvin University Team were recruiting new members, temptation tugged at her.
She was aware that the Orvin University Team was famed for nurturing talent, with the national team occasionally scouting from their
ranks.
If she thought about joining the national team, the Orvin University’s gaming squad was her ticket. After all, she had no intention of signing with other teams and commercial contracts offered no freedom, while the Orvin University’s team was different.
Lemira grabbed a flyer from Orvin University Team, “I’d like to know more.”
“Sure thing. Freshman, right? You look familiar. Ever played this game before?”
“A bit.”
“Great, having some experience is always good. Follow me for the paperwork, and if you’re free this afternoon, come check out our base.”
Lemira walked over to fill in her information.
Although her mood was affected by that fake angel, Lemira was determined not to give up her destination.
As Lemira finished the lunch and headed back to her dorm, she immediately sensed someone had tampered with her belongings.
She checked her stuff and found nothing was missing. Lemira noticed Clara’s darting eyes as the latter went over from the balcony, acting suspiciously guilty.

Lemira addressed impassively, “Did you mess with my stuff?”
“What nonsense are you talking about? Look at your poor state, why would I bother? My bag alone is worth thousands, more than your yearly expenses.”
Guilty as Clara felt, she wouldn’t just admit it.
Lemira eyed her bag, “Overpriced knockoff, you’ve offered the price high.”
“It’s genuine, bought by my dad as a college gift. What would a nobody from the sticks know about luxury? And an orphan no less.”
Clara was pissed off.
“This bag of yours is from last year. Inside there’s a chip, you can’t just check it.”
Clara went to check right away, and found there was no chip. With tears, she ran to the balcony to make calls.
Sitting back down, Lemira casually put the gaming team flyer on the table.
Janice whispered, “Lemira, be careful. You’ve offended people from the Business School, and they’ve been plotting how to give you a hard time.”
“Got it, thanks.”
Janice took a glance at the document about the gaming team on the table, “You’re into playing this game too?”
“Yeah, they’re recruiting.”
“But their requirements must be high. My skills are not so satisfying.”
“It’s not that high. You can give it a shot; it’s worth trying.”
Later, Lemira browsed gaming forums, responding to some gaming details. Many people inquired about her joining the Reapers. Confused by the sudden interest, she discovered Michel, the Reapers‘ manager, had followed her online account.
What did Michel mean by that? Lemira messaged him at once. [When did I say I was joining the Reapers?] But she received no reply

That afternoon, Lemira made her way to the Orvin University Team’s gaming base, which was quite impressive with its spacioud and attractive setting. As going in, she found a lot of new students had already arrived.
