Evelina finally picked up her phone, opened the message she had received earlier. Perhaps it’s time to start thinking of a backup plan for herself.

Lemira had been having a great few days, immersing herself in online gaming daily.
But then, she received a call from the school board, “Is this Lemira? We’re calling from the school board. Regarding your recent exam results, there have been multiple accusations of cheating against you. We need to conduct an investigation into your scores and hope you can come to school to cooperate with us.”

Before heading out, she saw the empty apartment. Orion and Thaddeus had been busy at the office during the day.
The mobile game she had been working on was about to launch.
She thought it over but decided not to tell Orion, choosing instead to take a cab to school by herself. She could handle it on her own.
Upon arriving at school, Lemira found both the principal and her teacher waiting.
As she entered the office, a middle–aged man sitting on the sofa spoke up, “You must be Lemira Langston. I’m the person in charge of investigating the scores. I have some questions for you.”
“Go ahead.”
Lemira was perfectly calm.
The teacher added, “Lemira’s recent scores have significantly improved, but she has always had a solid foundation before. It’s not impossible she just had a breakthrough in the last few months; she’s capable. We’re not worried about verifying the papers.”
“We’re still reviewing the exams, and we will ensure a fair and just investigation.”
After the questions, Lemira spoke up, “Who exactly reported me?”
“We can’t disclose that. That’s all for today; we’ll discuss it further back at the office.”
The teacher looked a bit anxious, “Lemira really didn’t cheat. Maybe if you let her retake an exam with official questions, you’ll see her true ability.”
Seeing her teacher defend her, Lemira felt a touch of warmth. Her teacher believed in her after all.
The principal calmly said, “Don’t worry too much. If you’ve done nothing wrong, you have nothing to fear.”
Lemira nodded, “I know, and that’s why I’m not worried.”
“That’s good. There’s nothing more for now; you can go home and wait for further news.”
After Lemira left the office, the principal took out his phone and dialed a number, “Mr. Everhart, there’s something I need to inform you
about.”
Orion paused his meeting and stepped out of the conference room upon hearing the principal’s news.
He stared out at the downtown skyline, his voice carrying a serious tone, “She went to the school just now?”
“Yes, to cooperate with the investigation. She’s already left. The accuser claimed the stationery I provided Lemira aided her in cheating
“Nonsense.”
Orion knew the truth more than anyone; Lemira didn’t need to cheat to excel.
His fingers tapped on the glass, his gaze profound, “I got it.”
Orion hung up, his lips curving into a menacing smile. Thaddeus stepped out from the meeting, “Hey, why that sinister grin? What was that call about?”
“Somebody accused Lemira of cheating on her exams.”
“What the heck? Who would stoop so low?”
