Orion’s voice was calm, “Didn’t see that coming. You’ve got a knack for computing. Ever thought about majoring in computer science in college?”
“I’ve considered it, but haven’t made up my mind yet.”
Truth be told, Lemira was unsure
what major to choose for her future; she had a myriad of interests.
“Let’s talk it over when we get back.”
“Sure.”
Walking beside him, Lemira glanced down at his shadow and felt a sudden uplift in her mood. They returned to the room together.

Upon hearing it, Lemira found it amusing. Technically, she did own shares.
But in her past life, those shares were used to apologize to Evelina. So, in this life, she’d never given those shares much thought; they were irrelevant to her anyway.
Thaddeus, sensing something off, quickly added, “Orion, too, is a rising star, investing in various companies. He’ll be seeing dividends as well.”

Lucian, sipping his wine, suddenly changed the subject, “Mr. Everhart is such a promising young man. Do you have a girlfriend?”
The topic change caught everyone off guard.
Lemira couldn’t help but glance at Orion, remembering she had asked him the same question before. He had said no.
Orion’s hand tightened around the wine glass, his lips pressed as if hesitating.
Thaddeus jumped in, “Of course, he does.”
Lemira’s utensils clattered to the floor in her surprise. Blushing, she bent down to pick them up, her thoughts suddenly in a whirl. Orion had a girlfriend? He had said he didn’t before. Could it be that something happened during his recent business trip?
Picking up her utensils, Lemira looked at Orion with mixed feelings, a touch of sourness in her heart.
Orion noticed her gaze, which was easy to read. He seemed to make up his mind and replied nonchalantly, “Still in the early stages.” Hearing this, Lemira felt a buzz in her ears, as if she couldn’t hear anything else. So, he really was seeing someone.
Well, it made sense. Someone as outstanding as him was bound to attract girls.
Thaddeus spotted Lemira’s expression; unable to see her hurt, he added, “It’s still early days; who knows if it’ll work out.”
Lucian let out a half–smile, “With Mr. Everhart’s credentials, it’s hard to imagine any girl saying no. It’s all up to what Mr. Everhart decides.”
Orion finished his wine in one gulp. He swept a casual glance at Lemira, who was looking down, her expression hidden from him. He knew he was doing something cruel. But if she found out who he really was, it would be a thousand times more cruel.
It’s better to nip any potential issues in the bud. Orion thought Lemira deserved a more exciting life. The happiness she sought was. something he couldn’t give, nor did he have the right to.
With just a fleeting look, Orion’s mind raced through countless thoughts, his lips curling into a nonchalant smile, “Who knows, it’s all about chemistry.”
Lucian continued, “I happen to know quite a few eligible socialites, beautiful and leggy, around your age. Interested in meeting any of them?”
Lemira’s eyelashes fluttered, and she spoke firmly, “No need for that!”
