“Our streaming platform is top–notch, don’t let those folks over at VibeCast fool you. They offered you five hundred thousand, right? We’ll go straight to a million a year. How do you think?”
A million? Lemíra was tempted.
She replied, “Sounds good, let me think about it and I’ll get back to you later.”
After hanging up, Lemira left the study.
Orion was lounging on the couch, still on his phone. The voice on the other end said, “Mr. Everhart, we’ve already informed the executives at PixelStage.”
Hearing footsteps, Orion quickly ended the call and looked up at Lemira, “There’s some fruit on the table.”
Lemira’s throat was indeed a bit sore. She picked up the plate, “PixelStage just called me. They actually agreed I don’t have to stream
ery day and they’re offering a million signing bonus.”
“They see your potential, securing you early is a win for them.”
Lemira was in high spirits, “Now I don’t have to worry about tuition and living expenses.”
Ever since she left the Langston mansion, she hadn’t touched her credit card, nor had she spent a dime from her savings account.
Orion’s gaze was profound, “Is there anything else you wanna do?”
Lemira found his question odd, “Not really right now, making money solves my biggest problem.”
After finishing her fruit, Lemira went back to her place to rest.
Thaddeus finally emerged from the bedroom, “Orion, you’ve paved the way for Sweet Lemon; she won’t have a hard life. Isn’t it time for you to move on?”
Orion’s gaze darkened slightly, “I’ll wait until she starts school.”
Thaddeus suddenly felt a headache coming on, “You can’t fall for her, though. She’s great, but she’s not the one for you.”
That car accident years ago made it impossible for them. Currently, Lemira didn’t know who Orion really was, but if she did, things wouldn’t be as peaceful as they were now.
If only that accident hadn’t happened.
The next day, Lemira agreed to sign with PixelStage. After all, her decision to stream was to make money.
PixelStage sent her an invitation, “There’s an online influencers‘ gala tomorrow night, come and have fun if you’re free.”
Lemira glanced at the invitation, in her past life she had wanted to go, but Alaric ended up taking Evelina instead.

But taking part in such events usually required people wearing evening gowns. After leaving the Langston mansion this time, she had only brought basic clothes.
Lemira went next door but found both Orion and Thaddeus were out. Odd.
There was a note on the table, scribbled in a hurry, “Sweet Lemon, we’re out for a bit!”

Arriving at her usual shopping center, spending her own money this time somehow felt empowering.
“Lemira, what are you doing here?”
Turning around, Lemira saw Jessica. She replied with a smile, “Just shopping for clothes.”
“Are you going to that gala tomorrow night?”
“How did you know?”
“Just guessed. My brother happens to be working at the event, mentioned SweetLemon might be there.”
Lemira didn’t bother hiding it, asking, “You here alone?”
“Just got out of the internet café, my parents ban me from gaming. Let me help you shop for clothes, got nothing else to do.”
Lemira didn’t reject, and they headed to the top floor.
Seeing the brands there, Jessica remarked, “These clothes must be expensive.”
“Don’t worry, I can afford it!”
