Chapter 5
When she returned to the Velazquez family, it was already early morning. Exhausted, she pushed open the door and immediately saw a man sitting on the sofa, with his long legs crossed and a cold expression on his face, his eyes staring at her intensely.
Sergio’s face darkened slightly when he saw her appear.
“I had already warned you, why did you still go against Miriam?”
Originally, he sat in the living room waiting, just to interrogate her.
Thinking about the recording in her phone, she instinctively wanted to take it out.
However, when her hand touched the cold phone case, she suddenly woke up again.
Given how much Sergio loved Miriam at the moment, even if the truth was right in front of him, he wouldn’t have believed it. He might have even thought she was playing some kind of trick.
The best timing for this recording to appear was after her death.
Because dead people do not lie.
Sylvia tugged at her lips and looked up, finding an excuse to say, “Just consider me being too in love with you, so I was too jealous of her, that’s why I did these things.”
After saying that, she walked towards her room without looking back.
Only Sergio, with a slightly stunned expression, watched her figure silently and absentmindedly.
The next day was Quentin’s birthday.
Early in the morning, Sergio left the house.
For Sylvia, it was a good opportunity as she could freely celebrate Quentin’s birthday without any
worries.
In the past, every time it was his birthday, she would personally make a cake, choose a gift or him, and the two of them would sit together happily, blowing candles and eating cake.
Recalling those scenes, the corners of Sylvia’s mouth couldn’t help but curl up.
She enthusiastically cooked a table full of dishes that Quentin loves, and also prepared a cake and
pasta to serve together.
She did all this before taking out Quentin’s photo and tenderly caressing the handsome man’s
cheek.

“Happy birthday…”
Before she could even call out Quentin’s name, the door was suddenly pushed open and Sergio
walked in with large strides.
Their gazes collided, and the atmosphere became somewhat awkward. She hastily put away the
photo.
Sergio looked at everything in front of him and clearly froze for a moment, then his eyes suddenly
darkened a bit.
“How did you know today was my birthday?”
Sylvia gazed, with the information about Sergio that the system had once told her floating in her
mind.
Yeah, today is Sergio’s birthday too.
The Velazquez family had two sons. Sergio was cold–tempered and, being the older brother, he had been neglected since childhood.
He and his younger brother have birthdays only one day apart. Their parents always remember his
brother’s birthday, but they forget his.
Until later, both parents and younger brother died in a car accident, and even in death, their bodies were tightly protecting the younger brother.
Since then, he has never celebrated his birthday again.
Even Miriam, who had been childhood friends with him, never remembered his birthday.
So at this moment, Sergio was obviously at a loss for what was happening before his eyes.
Sylvia didn’t know what to say. Naturally, she couldn’t say that she wasn’t celebrating his birthday at all, so she could only remain silent.
It could fall into Sergio’s eyes, but she just pretended to agree.
He walked step by step to the dining table, his ink–black eyes trembling slightly. He, wiad always been indifferent and emotionless, couldn’t help but reveal a touch of unusual emotion at
this moment.
The servant behind hurriedly nodded in agreement upon seeing the situation.
“Mr. Velazquez, in order to prepare a surprise for you, these were made by Ms. Campbell after working hard all day. She did them all by herself without any help, and I saw her almost burn her
hands.”

The maid Clara Spence had a good relationship with Sylvia. Over the years, she would often come to the Velazquez family and treat Clara with great respect. She would also frequently help her with tasks, so many times she would assist in speaking on her behalf.
At this moment, she naturally helped Sylvia to say all the good things in order to mediate their relationship.
Sergio’s face showed a momentary distraction, but in an instant, he snapped back to reality and coldly said, “This is not to be repeated. Don’t do these things for me in the future.”
