Chapter 16
“Donte, we have talked to Mylie, and she said that the decision to get married was made by her parents. She follows the arrangements of her elders and refuses to break off the engagement. What
should we do?”
Upon hearing this result, Donte’s heart sank to the bottom of the valley, and a hint of resentment flashed in his eyes.
“Since she didn’t know any better, let’s wait and see.”
Hearing his tone, the brothers felt a chill in their hearts.
“The Munoz family is also a well–known family in Crowmount. Donte, what are you planning to do? Please don’t do anything reckless.”
Donte glanced at them, did not answer, and changed the subject.
“What about Phoebe?”
The brothers all forgot about this person and looked at each other in confusion.
“No, I don’t know. You have to ask Du Ge.”
They were about to make a phone call as they spoke.
Donte, feeling frustrated and unable to vent his anger, decided to call it quits and go see for himself.
Everyone followed and entered the exclusive compartment.
Just as I sat down, Gavin Rogers walked in with a drink in hand and a look of flattery on his face as he gazed at Donte.
“Mr. Leblanc, the person you wanted, I have brought them to you. Take a look.”
He pushed the person who was cowering behind him forward, as he spoke.
Phoebe was thin as a skeleton, with bruises of various shades of blue and purple visible on her exposed arms and thighs.
She trembled all over, not daring to lift her head to look at anyone, her voice filled with deep fear.
“Donte was good.”
One month had passed, and the stunning beauty had transformed into this appearance, which truly surprised everyone in the room.
Only Donte had no expression.

He stared at the woman in front of him, and in her eyes, filled with hatred, a trace of disgust flashed
- by.
“Weren’t you fond of seducing men and climbing up the social ladder? Did you manage to catch a wealthy husband in this past month?”
Upon hearing the familiar sound again, Phoebe felt a chill in her heart.
She remembered the wounds inflicted on her by those men in the past month, as they indulged in their strange fetishes.
Shaking his head, he retreated backwards, his voice piercingly sharp.
“No, I didn’t want anything, Donte, please spare me, I beg you.”
Phoebe cried and pleaded while kneeling down on the ground, continuously knocking her head.
Donte remained completely unmoved.
He watched as blood oozed from her forehead, and his hands clasped tightly on his knees.
“Let you go? If it wasn’t for you, how could Maeve have left? How could I have been forced to marry a stranger? Everything you are going through now is just atonement for the sins you have
committed!”
The continuous torment had pushed Phoebe’s spirit to the brink of collapse.
She covered her chest and let out the suppressed resentment that had been buried deep in her heart.
“She left not because of me, but because of you! Even if I didn’t send her those videos, she would have still found out about your affair and chosen to leave!”
The entire compartment fell silent because of this sentence.
Enraged, Donte grabbed her wrist tightly, his anger almost bursting out of his eyes.
“What did you say?”
“I said you brought it upon yourself! You couldn’t control your own desires, so why blame me for all the mistakes? With your behavior, it’s no wonder Maeve dumped you!”
Phoebe’s sarcastic mockery hit Donte hard.
He couldn’t restrain himself any longer and swung his hand fiercely, landing a hard blow.
The woman’s painful and desperate cries echoed throughout the entire room.
It’s unclear how long it took, but Donte finally stopped. He grabbed a few tissues to wipe the blood

off his hands, turned around, and left, leaving only one sentence behind.
“There is no need to be lenient with someone who refuses to repent.”
