Chapter 19
Tyler rushed over and kicked Sarah Carlisle to the ground again.
Positioning himself protectively in front of me, he glared at Sarah with disgust,“Sarah
Carlisle, what the hell are you doing here?”
Ader had kicked with force. Sarah lay sprawled, stunned for a moment before turning her
head.
Staring at Tyler with shock and heartbreak, tears welled in her sunken eyes, rolling over
her swollen cheeks.
“Tyler, you hit me… for that bitch Elizabeth…?”
“Have you forgotten who got me kidnapped, who got me assaulted, who made me infertile
forever…?”
“Tyler, how can you defend her?!”
Tyler’s face was full of impatience. “Sarah Carlisle, how long are you going to keep up this
act?”
A flicker of panic crossed Sarah’s eyes, quickly hidden, “Tyler, what do you mean? Everything that happened to me was Elizabeth’s doing! What am I acting about?”
“What are you acting about?” Tyler stepped closer, annoyed. “Falling into the pool yourself,
deleting your own thesis, staging your own kidnapping and assault–each one was your
handiwork, and then you pinned it on Elizabeth.”
Sarah’s eyes went wide, “I didn’t! Tyler, she’s reversing everything! Don’t believe her!”
I approached, looking down at Sarah:
“Evil meets its end sooner or later. Sarah Carlisle, you brought today’s misery upon
yourself.”
“You say you didn’t do it? Then what’s this?”

Chapter 19
I opened a file on my phone.
It contained detailed call records from before the kidnapping–her conversations with the kidnappers, how she planned to lure me out, describing our features, and what would happen next.
Sarah glanced at it and instantly panicked.
She screamed at me,“These are forged!”
I retracted my phone,“If you like, I can bring them here. We can jog your memory on exactly what was said.”
Those words clearly stirred her worst nightmares.
Her lips trembled uncontrollably.
After the incident, Sarah never dared call the police. Guilty conscience and fear held her
back.
Even after being assaulted and losing her ovaries, she offered excuses of ‘sisterly love‘ and ‘it’s for her good‘ to stop Barny Carlisle and Tyler from going to the police, winning their sympathy.
Thanks to her, those kidnappers–who took five million from Jeff Vince–still roamed free.
I patted her face repeatedly, making no attempt to hide my contempt, “Speak up. Is it fake?
Want a face–to–face confrontation?”
Sarah shut her eyes and struggled wildly, “No! No!”
It was as if all her strength had drained away. She curled up on the ground, utterly broken.
I snorted and turned to leave.
I went back to the private room to collect my things, and Tyler Horton followed at my heels. “Elizabeth! Let me come with you!”
“That won’t be necessary.‘

He blocked my path. “I’ve already cut ties with Sarah Carlisle. Don’t you believe in my love
now?”
“Love?” I cocked my head slightly. “We dated for ten years, yet I never understood–what
exactly do you love about me?”
Tyler hadn’t anticipated this question. He hesitated, thrown off balance.
“If you can’t think of anything, don’t strain yourself. Step aside.” I brushed away his arm
d made to leave.
Panicking, he quickly grabbed me again, pleading earnestly, “Elizabeth, when I was at my lowest, you were the one who stayed by my side!”
I stared at him in silence.
Tyler tried nostalgia:
“When my family tested me and Matt Horton, giving each of us a hundred million to invest, I kept failing while he soared. Everyone mocked me, looked down on me. Only you remained constant, by my side, even pulling emergency funds from the Cala family to help
me,”
His voice grew emotional, “Elizabeth, after all I’ve gone through lately, I finally realize you’re the most precious thing to me.”
“I can’t lose you–I truly can’t!”
“I know you’re telling the truth.” I smiled calmly at him. “Indeed, I never abandoned you
back then.”
Seeing my softened demeanor, hope flared in Tyler’s eyes. “Elizabeth, let’s patch things up. Leave Jeff Vince. You’ve known him less than two months. He’s a playboy, just playing around. He’s not worth your time.”
I nodded thoughtfully. “I’ll ask you one question. If you can answer it, we can be together again.”
Tyler placed his hands on my waist, full of confidence, “Ask away!”

I looked him straight in the eye, smiling faintly, “On the day of my mother’s memorial service, I was in the hall, busy entertaining guests.”
I paused, watching his expression.
Then my gaze sharpened, and I pronounced each word distinctly,“Where were you at that
time?”
