Chapter 1
I suffered unbearable torment and grievances in my marriage with Tyler Horton.
With a heart full of hatred, I terminated the pregnancy and left resolutely.
Tyler Horton knelt before me, tears streaming down his face, saying I was the only one he
ver loved. He begged me for another chance.
I looked at him with scorn. “Where were you on the day of my mother’s memorial service?”
His eyes darted away, and he stammered, unable to answer.
I let out a cold laugh.
That day, he was in my sister Sarah Carlisle’s bed, tangled in passion.
As I stepped into the house, the floor was strewn with shoes and clothes.
The air was thick with the scent of lust.
From the bedroom upstairs came soft moans, tinged with pleasure. “Tyler, slow down…”
Holding my breath, I clenched my fists and silently ascended the stairs.
In the bedroom, the man made no effort to restrain himself, the bed creaking under his relentless movements. “How can slowing down satisfy you?”
The voices were painfully familiar.
They belonged to none other than my husband, Tyler Horton, and my half–sister, Sarah
Carlisle.
I should have been heartbroken.
But strangely, in this moment of betrayal, I felt no pain.
Chapter 1
Even though everyone said Tyler and I had been childhood sweethearts, bound by a decade–long engagement, and that I loved him deeply,
after our marriage, all I felt for Tyler was growing detachment and loathing.
Even today, on our first wedding anniversary, he was with Sarah.
What filled me wasn’t heartbreak, but exhaustion and fury.
My hand gripped the doorknob.
I didn’t open the door. Instead, I took out my phone, pressed it against the door, and hit the
record button.

“Tyler… what if Elizabeth comes back…”
Tyler sneered, “So what if she does? I wish I could kill her.”
“Tyler, don’t say that. She’s still my sister…”
Tyler scoffed:
“Sarah, you’re just too kind. That’s why she keeps harming you!
“If it weren’t for Elizabeth plotting the kidnapping, which led to you being assaulted and losing your ability to have children, I wouldn’t have married her!”
“The one I truly wanted to marry was you! Sarah, I fell for you the moment you came to the
Carlisle family.
“A wedding anniversary?
“These so–called important days mean nothing. I only want to be with you!”
Sarah let out a soft moan, and Tyler’s movements grew even more frenzied.
Separated by a door, the scene sickened me to the core.
I put away my phone and drove off.

Chapter 1
The scenery blurred as it sped past. My mind wandered to the absurdity of this past year.
A year ago, just before Tyler and I got married,
Sarah and I were both kidnapped and taken to an abandoned warehouse in the suburbs,
I was struck on the head with a club and lost consciousness,
But at that moment, an unknown figure rescued me and sent me to the hospital.
The person who saved me contacted the Carlisle family to pick me up and disappeared
without a trace.
When my father, Barny Carlisle, and my fiancé, Tyler Horton, rushed to the hospital,
they found me unconscious and later discovered Sarah in disarray at the warehouse.
For some reason, the person who saved me only rescued me, leaving Sarah to face the four, kidnappers alone.
During the two days and nights of captivity, Sarah was assaulted by the four men,
resulting in the removal of both her ovaries and the permanent loss of her ability to have
children.
All of this inevitably raised suspicions:
We were both kidnapped. Why was I unharmed, while Sarah suffered irreparable damage?
Moreover, Sarah had only been brought into the Carlisle family by my father four months- before the kidnapping as his illegitimate daughter,
posing a threat to my inheritance.
Every clue pointed to the possibility that I was the mastermind behind the kidnapping.
Adding to the drama, I woke up with no memory of the six months leading up to the kidnapping!
I had no way to defend myself. Tyler was livid and wanted to call the police on the spot.
Chapter 1
My father, Barny Carlisle, remained silent. No matter how desperately I explained, he didn’t
stand
up
for me.
It was Sarah who stopped Tyler. “Tyler, don’t. Elizabeth is still my sister. No matter what
she did, we’re family!”
With Sarah’s persistent pleading, Tyler reluctantly dropped the idea of calling the police…
Feeling restless, I parked my car by the sea and stared at the rolling waves beneath the
domy clouds.
I thought of the affair between Sarah and Tyler in the bedroom earlier.
My intuition told me things weren’t as simple as they seemed.
My relationship with my father and Tyler took a sharp downturn only after Sarah’s arrival.
If Sarah truly thought of me as her sister, why wouldn’t she feel guilty about sleeping with
Tyler?
Today was supposed to be my first wedding anniversary with Tyler.
And yet their affair clearly wasn’t a one–time thing.
I glanced at the wedding ring on my finger, feeling increasingly agitated.
With disgust, I pulled it off and flung it into the sea.
