The nurse stood still, at a loss for what to do, as Madam Matthews sighed and shook her head, instructing her to take the child and leave.
When the room was left with just the two of us again, she wiped her tears and reluctantly dialed Ethan’s phone number.
The man’s voice was still gentle, after all, his grandmother was now his only relative.
“Grandma, I was busy with work. You know, it’s the end of the year and there are a lot of things to do at the company. Wait for me to come home…”

Ethan fell silent for a moment, and when he spoke again, his tone was full of sarcasm.

I turned on the amplifier, tears silently falling onto the receiver.
On the other end of the phone, amidst the background sound of a woman sobbing, Ethan unleashed a highly insulting tirade.
