Love Story8–Chapter 1
As I left the hospital, I received a call from Zachary Cooper. His voice left no room for
refusal. “There’s a gift in my office cabinet. Bring it to Light Bar now.”
After days of a high fever, dizziness and fatigue washed over me, and all I wanted was to go
home and sleep. I tried to ask, “Mr. Cooper, I’m not feeling well today. Could someone else
Aring it?”
He clicked his tongue impatiently, his voice icy. “Camila Brooks, don’t think that just
because you’ve been in my bed, you can get spoiled and act entitled. You’re still my
secretary. I told you to bring it over right now. Got it?”
I smiled bitterly, never having thought I’d hear the words “spoiled and entitled” applied to
- me.
In the taxi, I opened Instagram, where the top trending post was about Gianna Barnes
returning to the country. Gianna, a travel blogger with millions of followers, effortlessly
drew attention with her every move. I couldn’t resist clicking on her profile and saw a post
from just thirteen minutes ago.
*Thank you for staying here for me. I believe this is heaven’s best arrangement.

The image showed a man’s elegant side profile, tall and relaxed as he leaned against a bar
booth.
Thousands of comments flooded in beneath it.
“Oh my gosh, this guy is so handsome! He looks a bit like Zachary, the CEO of Creat Star
Tech!”
“It’s not just a resemblance; it’s actually Zachary! He’s so attractive. If he looked at me, I’d
give him my bank account password!”
“No wonder Gianna suddenly came back–it was for this hottie! They’re such a perfect
match!”
“Zachary’s been single all these years as a billionaire CEO, turns out he was saving himself

for our Gianna!”
My fingers traced the handsome face in the photo, and I left a comment: *“Wishing you a lifetime of happiness.**
As I opened the door to the private room, deafening music flooded out. Gianna was nestled against Zachary’s side, laughing softly. They looked perfect together–a stunning couple.
I pushed through the crowd and walked up to Zachary. “Mr. Cooper, here’s what you
quested.*
Zachary glanced at me briefly, took a pink diamond necklace out of the box, and turned to Gianna. “Gianna, a welcome–home gift for you. Do you like it?”
Gianna’s eyes lit up as she smiled charmingly. “Zachary, how did you know I had my eye on
this necklace? I love it!”
Tm glad you like it.” Zachary looked at her with such tenderness in his eyes–a warmth I’d never seen from him before.
Feeling a pang in my chest, I averted my gaze, listening to Gianna’s teasing voice, “Zachary, where did you find a knockoff that looks so much like me?”
Zachary pulled her into his arms, his voice gentle and coaxing, “She can’t compare to even one percent of you. In my heart, Gianna, you’re one of a kind.”
Not wanting to become the topic of their banter, I spoke softly, “Mr. Cooper, if there’s
nothing else, I’ll take my leave.”
Gianna picked up a drink and stood up to block me, smiling as she suggested, “Secretary Brooks, why don’t you stay and have a drink with us?”
