Chapter 613 No Time to Waste
Virginia’s POV:
Hayley was clearly not telling me the truth.
That was the Alpha King!
There’s no way he would drop everything to help an unfamiliar Omega. And judging by his gentle demeanor toward Hayley, their relationship was much closer than she let on.
Finished
However, Hayley is my daughter, and we’ve only recently reconnected. It’s natural for her to withhold certain things from me due to a lack of trust.
I didn’t want to create a rift by pushing her for answers.
Watching the formidable hospital gates slowly open, I clutched my coat tightly. With Michelle back, it felt like there was hope for the Sanders family once again.
Hayley’s POV:
Under Samson’s lead, not only did Virginia and I gain entry, but so did Benjamin’s men.
Roy seemed to have gotten wind of our arrival and intercepted us at the inpatient department’s entrance.
“Alpha King, what an honor to have you here!” Roy greeted with a sycophantic smile, extending his hand to Samson in an attempt to ingratiate himself.
Samson glared down at him coldly, leaving his hand hanging in the air.
He simply asked, “Where are Alan and Peter’s wards?”
“Well…” Roy awkwardly withdrew his hand, looking troubled. “Alpha, our hospital has a strict policy. Without the patient’s family’s consent, outsiders aren’t allowed to visit.”
Samson turned to me and asked, “Do you consent?”
“Of course,” I said coolly.
Samson nodded and then addressed his men, “Search the place.”
With that command, a dozen high–ranking Beta enforcers rushed into the inpatient building.
The hospital security staff, armed with guns, were quickly overpowered by Samson’s men, their weapons confiscated.
Within five minutes, Freya and Daniel were dragged out, looking disheveled.
“Alpha, we found them. When we got in, the oxygen tubes were already disconnected. These two were in the room at the time,” reported one of Samson’s men.
“What!?” Virginia gasped, nearly fainting upon hearing that Alan and Peter’s oxygen had been cut off.
“They’ve been dependent on those machines for years. Suddenly disconnecting the oxygen is a death sentence!” she explained to me, tears welling up in her eyes.
“We’ve already called for emergency help!” said the same man, pausing to glare angrily at Roy. “A hospital this big without a qualified doctor on duty? This is playing with patients‘ lives!”
As soon as he finished speaking, Virginia bolted into the inpatient building, screaming, “Alan, Peter, I’m here! Hold on!”
Samson shot Roy a piercing look. “You’re really something.”
I was about to follow Virginia when Samson called out again, “Hayley, come here and explain what’s going
on.”
“There’s no time,” I urged. “We need to save them first!”
I darted into the building, sprinting up the stairs with Benjamin following close behind.
We arrived to find Virginia sobbing uncontrollably over Alan’s body.
“Alan, hang on! The doctors are coming.
“Don’t leave me, don’t leave me and Michelle. Our daughter is back. You can’t go now!”
Despite my strong resolve, the sight tugged at my heartstrings, bringing tears to my eyes.
I paused at the doorway, staring at the two men lying on the hospital beds, feeling an indescribable pain.
Though I had seen their photos on the computer, seeing them in person was a completely different experience.
Hera, sensing the familiar scent emanating from them, had been on edge since we entered, worried for their well–being.
“Hayley,” Benjamin’s voice snapped me back to reality.
I quickly moved to Alan’s side, pulling out the needles I had prepared, and began performing needle therapy.
