Chapter 11
Without hesitation, I pulled my hand away. I had to try my best not to lash out.
After we arrived at the restaurant, Antonio kept filling my parents‘ cups in time and putting food on their plates attentively, acting no different from the perfect son–in–law.
I sat aside watching while sneering deep down. The more he deliberately tried to please them, the more hypocritical he seemed to me.
During the meal, I went to the restroom.
Right after I stepped out of the restroom, I saw him waiting for me in the hallway.
He approached me step by step, his face sullen.
“Grace, what do you mean? Who’s that guy in the hospital? What’s your relationship?”
He lowered his voice, pressing me in an urgent tone.
I looked at him coldly, feeling irritated.
“Is that any of your business, Antonio? What right do you have to ask me about my personal affairs?”
He instantly pulled a long face and grabbed my wrist with great force. I frowned because of the pain.
“Grace, in case you forget, we’re still married. You shouldn’t

get so close to any other man,” he warned me.
I shook away his hand forcibly, feeling sick.

“Stop lying to yourself, Antonio. You really expect me to put up with what you did with Bonnie?”
His face turned pale at once. No matter what, it was a fact that he had cheated on me, and he couldn’t find any excuse
for this.
I shot him a cold glance before turning to leave.
Back at the table, my parents were waiting for me.
“Grace, are you OK? You went for so long. The food is getting cold,” Mom said with concern.
I forced a smile and sat down to eat.
Antonio followed me and sat down with a long face.
The atmosphere became a bit awkward. My parents seemed to sense something but didn’t ask.
After the meal, Antonio offered to send us back.
I wanted to say no, but it was too late–my parents had already agreed.
On the way, Antonio kept trying to strike up a conversation with me, but I didn’t say a word.
When we arrived home, I went straight to my room and closed the door, feeling exhausted.
Then I took out my phone and canceled my return ticket to

Northdale, deciding to stay a few more days with my parents. Then I booked a flight to Espain for the three of us and reserved a hotel.
Surely, after we went to Espain, Antonio wouldn’t be able to haunt us anymore.
I didn’t block Bonnie’s number or any other contact
information.
Instead, I saved all those photos and videos she posted on Instagram showing off her relationship with Antonio.
After all, they could be helpful solid proof when I took this to
court.
Bonnie was stupid indeed. Every now and then, she’d send me intimate moments of her life with Antonio.
Perhaps she figured she could break me down by doing this.
But the truth was, I felt nothing when I looked at those photos and videos.
One night, I took a shower and came out of the bathroom. Just then, I received a video call from Bonnie.
After a few seconds of hesitation, I answered.
Seeing the call was connected, Bonnie hid her phone in a
corner.
I was puzzled.
She surely had an agenda. But what was she exactly up to?
I clicked the record button, waiting for a drama to unfold.

She walked over to Antonio, who was sitting on the couch.
He pulled her into his arms and took her hand, comforting her gently, “Baby, I’m sorry.
“I was so anxious today. I didn’t mean to slap you. Believe me. It was just a show I put on for Grace.
“I just don’t get it. Why do you insist that I get a divorce? Things are great now, right?
“If Grace makes a big deal about this, everyone I know will see me as a joke.”
