Chapter 15
Since that day, Jeremy seemed to have changed. He no longer went to the hospital or cared about the company’s affairs.
He spent the whole day hiding in the room and drowned his sorrows in alcohol, hoping to catch a glimpse of Vera under the influence of alcohol.
He didn’t know if Vera was disappointed in him. These days, she had not appeared in his dreams
even once.
Jeremy took a bottle of wine, tilted his head back, and finished it in one gulp. Then he casually
threw it on the ground, letting it roll with a thud sound into the corner.
The wine bottle collided with the corner of the wall, and then the room returned to silence again.
Following that was Jeremy’s low sobbing.
He curled up on the ground, desperate and lonely, trying to grasp onto something, but it was all in
vain.
He only realized at that moment that Vera was truly disappointed in him. That was why she destroyed all the items between them before her death. There was nothing left to commemorate
her.
Bitter tears slid down the corners of his mouth as he tilted his head back and drank another bottle of
-wine.
Suddenly, a fair hand appeared in front of him and took away his bottle of wine.
“Jeremy, don’t drink so much alcohol anymore.”
He looked up and saw a blurry white figure standing in front of him. She looked like Vera when
frowned and smiled.
“Vera, you’re back.”
He stumbled and staggered as he got up from the ground, then he embraced the girl in his arms.
“Vera, you finally came to see me. Do you know how much I missed you? I was going crazy.”

Elsa was originally happy when Jeremy hugged her. But when she heard Vera’s name that she was seen as a substitute. She struggled to push Jeremy away, but he held her even tighter.
Jeremy seemed not to feel the struggles of the person in his arms as he continued to express his
remorse.
As he kept repenting to Vera, a hint of resentment flashed on Elsa’s face.

Elsa thought Jeremy loved her. But just because Vera died, did his love shift? No, she did not allow such a thing to happen.
She suppressed the hatred in her eyes and spoke softly.
“Jeremy, look at me. I’m not Vera. I’m Elsa.”
Elsa’s words were like a bolt from the blue, abruptly waking Jeremy up from his fantasy. He suddenly released Elsa from his embrace, his eyes gradually transitioning from confusion to clarity. Then they were filled with disgust and hatred.
The next second, he tightly gripped Elsa’s shoulders, with rage and hatred in his eyes.
“Elsa, why did you send those messages to Vera? Do you know that your words would kill her?
“Why don’t you ever seem content, even though you have everything?
“Vera just came to this world two minutes earlier than you. Why should she always have to compromise with you? Do you know how many times she has given blood to you? How many times she has saved your life? Do you have any conscience at all?”
While reprimanding Elsa, Jeremy was also questioning himself. Why did he treat Vera like this?
Elsa was frightened by the emotionally unstable man in front of her. The intense pain in her shoulders made her let out a cry.
She weakly spoke, “Jeremy, you hurt me. Let go of me.”
