Chapter 13
At this moment, his mind was filled with the image of Vera. Regretfully, he remembered her swollen, teary eyes and forlorn looks.
What had he done to her? He almost crawled on his knees to Vera’s side, and once again held her
hand.
With her cold palm placed on his face, she said, “Vera, it was all my fault. Hit me. As long as you can forgive me, I am willing to do anything you ask.”
But Vera could no longer wake up, and she would never forgive him.
Jeremy sobbed uncontrollably but unexpectedly noticed the scars on Vera’s wrist.
He finally believed that Vera had indeed suffered from severe depression.
He snatched the thick stack of depression diagnosis papers from the staff, and every seizure of Vera’s illness was recorded on them.
On the first day of Vera’s depression, Jeremy cancels their appointment to try on wedding dresses and rushes to accompany Elsa instead. Meanwhile, feeling disheartened, Vera left one after another scar on her wrist.
When Vera jumped into the sea to commit suicide, Jeremy was by Elsa’s side, saying that he hoped she would be healthy and safe.
Every time Vera suffered from depression, he was with another woman.
And he never noticed her emotional abnormality.
Even if he had noticed it, he would soon be affected by Elsa.
Jeremy tightly clenched the diagnosis of depression, his fingers trembling with force.
His tears streamed down his cheeks, wetting several thick sheets of paper, and fell onto the words “depression” and “suicide“.
