Years ago, when she had been sent to that organization, they had quickly introduced her to poison–making. The very first formula she developed was the Mind–Eater. She’d been told it was meant to be used against enemies. Never in her worst nightmares had she imagined it would be used by Charlotte on her own father.
Charlotte’s cruelty truly knew no bounds.
Even though Suzy had braced herself, seeing her father in his current state–neither fully human nor fully aware–was unbearable.
The worst part was his constant murmuring of one name: “Charlotte… Charlotte…”
“Dad…” Suzy called softly, stepping closer to him.
As she approached, he grabbed her hand urgently. “Have you seen Charlotte?”
Tears welled up and spilled down Suzy’s cheeks. “Dad, look closely at me. I’m Honey. Your little Honey…”
But he didn’t recognize her. His mind was consumed by thoughts of Charlotte.
“Where is Charlotte?” he demanded desperately. “Tell me where she is! I miss her… I miss her so much. It hurts—it hurts so bad not seeing her.”
Suzy stood frozen, overwhelmed by grief. She knew her father’s state was a result of the curse, but knowing didn’t make it any less painful.
Taking a deep breath to steady herself, she fought back the lump in her throat and said, “Do you want to see her? Then come with me, Dad. I’ll take you to her.”
“You know where she is?” he asked, his eyes lighting up with a desperate hope. You’re not lying to me, are you?”

“I won’t lie to you. I really know where she is. Come with me,” Suzy reassured him.
She knew it wasn’t right to deceive him, but it was the only way to get him to leave with her.
As they left with her father, Wendy made no move to stop them, proving their earlier suspicions unnecessary.
However, Allen remained puzzled. “If she wasn’t planning to do anything, why insist on Suzy coming alone?”
Watching Suzy walk away with her father, Wendy’s eyes darkened, a fleeting glint of something unspoken flickering in their depths.
The reason she had wanted Suzy to come alone wasn’t to harm her. She had intended to do something else but it was no longer necessary. This outcome, in her view, was the perfect revenge against Charlotte.
Charlotte had never wanted Suzy to reunite with her father. She had gone to great lengths to keep them apart. Now, Wendy had orchestrated their reunion, fully aware that this was the one thing Charlotte couldn’t bear.
With her task complete, Wendy went to Charlotte’s gravesite to tell her everything.
