Following Suzy’s instructions, all individuals who had been at the orphanage with Charlotte during that time were thoroughly investigated, but no one suspicious was found.
Back then, aside from Wendy having a closer relationship with Charlotte, she had no other significant connections with anyone at the orphanage.
Not a single person.
“Could it be that the person isn’t from the orphanage at all? After all, Charlotte later manipulated Mark, and he wasn’t from the orphanage either, but he was still completely devoted to her,” Allen suggested. “Should we try investigating in another direction?”
Suzy looked at him. “In what direction?”
“Well, I’m not sure where to begin just yet!” Allen sighed. “I have to admit, Charlotte is incredibly difficult to deal with. Even after her death, she’s left us with so much trouble. She’s like a devil, haunting us endlessly!”
Suzy didn’t respond, her gaze growing darker. There had to be someone else close to Charlotte. Could it be that she faked her death again?
That was impossible. Suzy had personally confirmed it during Charlotte’s burial.
It was definitely her, not someone impersonating her.
Suddenly, Suzy furrowed her brow deeply and asked Allen, her expression complex, ” When Charlotte was cremated, were you there the whole time?”
“Yes, I stayed the entire time. I even pressed the incineration button myself and watched until Charlotte was reduced to ashes and the staff placed them in the urn. There’s no way it could be a mistake!”
Exactly. Charlotte was killed by Claude himself. If she were an imposter, there was no way Claude wouldn’t have noticed. After all, they had conspired together for so many years he knew her better than anyone.
So, who could it be?
Just as Suzy was struggling to piece it all together, she received an anonymous letter.
Inside the plain white envelope were a few photographs of Timothy./

Nothing else.
In the photos, Timothy was lying on the ground, covered in blood, seemingly lifeless. The sight of the pictures made Suzy’s breath catch. “Find the courier who delivered this letter. We must figure out who sent it to me!”
The courier was found, but as for who sent the letter, there were no leads.
“I really don’t know who sent this letter to you,” the courier explained. “Our mailbox is open to the public. Anyone can drop letters into it. When I opened it, the letter was already there.”
Suzy asked, “Are there surveillance cameras in the area?”
“There are, but they’ve been out of order for the past two days. Yesterday, our supervisor said they’d called someone to fix them, but the repair technician mentioned a personal issue and would be delayed by a couple of days.”
In other words, the letter was truly anonymous, and figuring out the sender wouldn’t be easy.
But Suzy didn’t believe the nearby surveillance cameras were also out of order.
She instructed Allen to investigate the surrounding surveillance thoroughly. Retrieve all the original footage. I want to see just how capable this person really is!”
Following Suzy’s instructions, Allen brought back all the surveillance tapes from the area around the post office.
As Suzy anticipated, the cameras were functioning perfectly, showing nothing unusual. The sender was even caught on video–a boy, around five or six years old.
The culprit couldn’t possibly be the boy. He must have been used by someone. Although it was unlikely that the boy would provide any useful information, Suzy still had Allen bring him in for questioning.
