Allen knew Suzy was probably furious–if it were him, he would be too. But…
“I just stepped away to use the bathroom. It couldn’t have been more than three minutes. When I left the room, he was still unconscious. By the time I came back, he was gone.” Allen’s voice carried a hint of disbelief. “I’ve searched everywhere and couldn’t find him. And… the security footage shows nothing unusual!”
A missing person with no anomalies on the footage–that itself was the biggest anomaly.
How could someone disappear without a trace?
Suzy’s first suspicion fell‘ on Wendy, who now had the most motive since everyone
else connected to that event was either dead or gone.

She and Allen immediately went to track her down, only to discover she wasn’t there. “It’s definitely her!” Allen was almost certain she was behind it. “But what’s her angle? She just reunited you with your father, only to take him away again. Besides, doesn’t she already know the truth about Charlotte? Why would she still do this?”
Suzy couldn’t figure it out either. “Let’s focus on finding her first! It hasn’t been long
-she can’t have gone far. Order the railways and airports to be locked down immediately! Wendy might know how to disguise herself, so stop anyone matching her build!”

Both Dylan and Elliot were informed of the situation and immediately joined in tracking Wendy.
Despite mobilizing multiple forces,‘hours passed with no leads. It was as if Wendy had vanished from the face of the earth.
Suzy felt a pang of regret. She should have listened to Dylan and let him bring Wendy. directly to the Hillside Villa.

Just as everyone assumed it would take a long and arduous search to locate Wendy, they were shocked when she appeared at the gates of the Hillside Villa–dead.
After a thorough examination, it was confirmed that it was indeed her, not someone in disguise.
“What kind of game is this?” Allen muttered, bewildered. “She takes him and then throws her own life away? What’s the point?“”
Dylan interjected, “Whoever took Dad, it wasn’t her,”
Elliot, visibly annoyed, shot back, “Stop calling him that. You’re divorced!”
“Divorced or not, he’s still my father–in–law. How I address him is none of your business!”
As the two were about to escalate their argument, Allen quickly cut in, “Hey, have you both forgotten something?”
They suddenly remembered to maintain their pretense in front of Suzy and fell silent.
Suzy gave them a glance but said nothing. Instead, she turned to Allen. “Charlotte didn’t just rely on Wendy. There must have been others she arranged before her death.
“It’s like Wendy and George–if one failed, the other would step in. So someone else took my father and killed Wendy!
“Wendy came from that orphanage. That person might have too. Go through the records again–check everyone who was in the same cohort as Charlotte!”
