Suzy was well aware of the conversation happening outside between the two men. The entire area was under surveillance–nothing anyone did could escape her watchful eyes.
What a headache!
She had barely enjoyed two peaceful days, and now chaos was bound to return.
With no updates from her father’s side and these wo men constantly at each other’s throats, the more she thought about it, the worse her headache became.
Was there a way to keep the two from running into each other?
After a moment of consideration, Suzy came up with an idea. She turned to Allen, who was sitting nearby, and said, “South Allica needs more manpower right now. Take Elliot over there. Don’t worry about Riley. I’ll look after things here for you.”
Allen tried to hold back but couldn’t resist. “Why just take Elliot? Why not bring Dylan too? Wouldn’t that make things even quieter for you?”
“Where Dylan goes isn’t exactly something I can decide!”
Allen stood from the couch and walked over to her with a sly grin. “Didn’t he just say he’d listen to you no matter what?”
Suzy narrowed her eyes. “So, what are you implying? That I don’t actually want Dylan to leave?

“Whatever the reason, I’m sure you know best,” Allen replied with an even bigger smirk. Honestly, though, after all this time, he’s learned his lesson. Isn’t it time to ease up a little? “Come on, the guy’s already paying for it. He’s in a wheelchair now; it’s probably time to call it a day.”
“You certainly seem to know me well,” Suzy remarked.
“Of course! I’ve been around long enough to know you better than anyone,” Allen said with a smug grin. “You might fool the whole world, but you’re not fooling me.”
Suzy laughed softly. “Is that so? Too bad you’re overthinking it.”
“Whether I’m overthinking or not isn’t up to you to decide!” Allen replied with a triumphant grin. “Since you clearly want to be all cozy and inseparable with Dylan, I’ll do the noble thing and help you by getting Elliot out of the picture…”

Before he could finish, a throw pillow hit him square on the forehead.
“Your imagination is so vivid, you could switch careers and become a screenwriter!” Suzy said, holding the pillow. “Why don’t I give you that opportunity right now? We can’t let such ‘talent

“Fine, fine,” Allen said, raising his hands in surrender. “I overthought it. You haven’t forgiven Dylan, and you’re definitely not pretending to never forgive him just to keep him hanging. You’re totally serious about not forgiving him.
“Even being friends with him isn’t some clever tactic to take a step back and get closer later. Happy now?”
Suzy didn’t reply, though she couldn’t help thinking there really were no secrets in this world.
Not that she was trying particularly hard to hide her thoughts–someone was just too oblivious to notice them.
As she mused, Allen’s phone rang. It was one of the operatives assigned to monitor George. He glanced at Suzy before answering. “What’s going on?”
“George snuck out in the middle of the night!”
“Alone?”
“Yes!”
After hanging up, Allen immediately relayed the situation to Suzy.
Hearing that George had gone out alone, Suzy instantly pieced it together. “Looks like George already realized that the woman posing as Charlotte is a fake!”
“How could he have figured it out?” Allen frowned in confusion. “Her looks, her voice, even the tiniest mannerisms–she mimicked Charlotte perfectly. I’ve known Charlotte for years, and even I couldn’t tell the difference. How did she fail to fool him?”
“George loved Charlotte deeply. He’d know her better than anyone else,” Suzy said, rubbing her temples. “There must have been details–things we wouldn’t notice–that tipped him off. Have someone follow him and see where he’s headed.”
