Chapter 0604
Chapter 0604
But Suzy was perplexed. When she had previously searched for Charlotte’s hideout, she had thoroughly combed the estate and found no trace of her father. Where exactly had Charlotte hidden him?
The woman in disguise, following Dylan’s plan, stayed in the car for now to avoid raising suspicion. She turned to George and said, “I think we should take you somewhere to recover first.”
“No need, Master. It’s just a few superficial wounds,” George said as he reached for the door handle to get out. “Besides, it’s been so long since you’ve seen him. Let me take you to see him so you can know that during your absence, I’ve taken good care of him just as you instructed.”
“That’s not necessary,” the woman interjected, stopping George. “I trust you. Right now, I’m more worried about your health than seeing him. Even minor injuries are injuries–if they get infected, it could be serious! Let me take you to where I’m staying so I can properly treat you.”
Hearing this, George’s heart swelled with an indescribable joy. “Whatever you say, Master!”
Once the car drove off, Suzy immediately pulled her car up, unlocked the gate, and began searching the entire estate again, inside and out.
Nothing. Absolutely nothing.
Was George onto them and deliberately playing games?
Just as Suzy was about to call Allen and have him send reinforcements, Dylan arrived. He had guessed from Suzy’s calm tone earlier on the phone that she was already aware of the situation. Without delay, he had Desmond prepare a car and came straight to the estate.
When Dylan entered, he found Suzy sitting on the living room sofa, her expression heavy with frustration.
“You didn’t find him?” Dylan asked, his brows furrowed.
Suzy lifted her gaze to him. “Tell your people to be careful. George might have already realized she’s an imposter.”
Dylan’s lips pressed into a firm line. “Understood.”
After Dylan instructed Desmond to notify the woman, he ordered Desmond to gather more people and conduct another thorough search of the Frost estate, inside and out.
The results were the same–nothing. It was becoming increasingly likely that George was playing them, turning their own tactics against them.
As the saying goes, “It’s easier to cope without expectations.” Yet each time they thought they were close, their hopes were crushed again. Even as an outsider, Dylan felt a wave of frustration; he could only imagine how much harder it was for Suzy.

“Don’t overthink it. We’ll find him,” Dylan said awkwardly, attempting to comfort her. “Are you hungry? Let me take you out for a late–night snack. Eating something can help when you’re feeling down.”
Afraid she might refuse, he added hesitantly, “Diana said that. I tried it–it works.”
Of course, the last part was a lie. Whether he was in a good or bad mood, Dylan rarely ate, especially when the food wasn’t made by Suzy.
In the past, he hadn’t cared much for the meals she cooked. But now, whenever he thought about them, they seemed like the most delicious dishes in the world. The mere memory made his mouth water. Sadly, he no longer had the privilege of tasting them again.
Suzy glanced at him and, to his surprise, didn’t refuse. “Let’s go.”
Dylan was speechless. She actually agreed?
His excitement was palpable, though Suzy noticed it. Her decision wasn’t about easing their relationship but rather a way to let off some steam. Besides, regardless of the outcome, he had genuinely helped her. It wouldn’t be fair to let his efforts go to waste.
After this meal, they would be even. Everything would return to square one.
Just as the two were about to leave, a voice suddenly called out from the group still searching.” It looks like there’s a hidden room here!”
