Chapter 67
Valencia’s POV
The air in the room was cold, colder than it should have been. The walls, damp and gray, seemed to close in on me. My breathing picked up as I realized where I was–the dungeons of the Wolfe mansion. Chains hung from the walls, rusted and clinking softly in the eerie silence.
“No,” I whispered, my voice trembling, “Not here. Not again.”
I looked around desperately, my heart pounding in my chest. “Castor?” I called out, my voice echoing in the empty space. “Baby? Where are you?”
I knew he couldn’t answer verbally but my blood ran cold when realized the connection to him was gone. Like it was never
there.
The sound of footsteps made me look up. They were slow, deliberate, echoing against the stone walls. My heart screamed at me to run, but my legs refused to move.
And then I saw him.
Jaxon stepped out from the shadows, his dark eyes gleaming with a cruel, predatory light. A smirk tugged at his lips as he closed the distance betweenus.
“You thought you could run from me?” he sneered, his voice dripping with malice.
I stumbled back, my hands instinctively moving to protect my stomach, even though Castor wasn’t there. He wasn’t inside me anymore, he was–he was-
“Where’s my baby?” I demanded, my,voice breaking.
Jaxon’s smirk widened. “Your baby? Do you mean your disgrace Or did you forget what happens to things that displease me?”
“No!” I screamed, lunging at him, but he caught me easily, slamming me against the cold, hard floor.
His weight pinned me down, and I thrashed wildly, trying to escape. The smell of blood and earth filled my nose as his fingers dug into my shoulders.
“You’ll never escape it, Valencia,” he hissed, his face inches from mine. “It will always end this way no matter how many times you try to change it. This. Is. Your. Destiny.
“Let me go!” I screamed, tears streaming down my face. “I need to see my baby! Castor-
But his laughter drowned out my cries, a cruel, mocking sound that echoed endlessly in my ears.
I woke up screaming.
My chest heaved as I sat upright, sweat dripping down my temples despite the chilly winter air. My hands scrambled to find the familiar warmth of Castor’s egg, but the bed beside me was empty.
“Castor?” I called out, my voice hoarse. My heart pounded as I frantically searched the bed, throwing off the blankets,
“Castor!”
I clearly remembered falling asleep with him. He’d been in my arms, warm and safe. So where was he now?
Panic surged through me as I stumbled out of bed, not caring that I was still in my silk nightgown. My feet were bare, the

cold marble floor biting against my skin as I rushed out of the room.
The first place I checked was the room next door, but it was empty. No Castor. No Dante,
My breathing turned shallow, my chest tightening with every second that passed.
I ran down the hall, my steps uneven and frantic, until I nearly collided with the butler and the head maid speaking to each other.
Both of them froze, their eyes widening as they took in my appearance.
“Where’s Castor!!” I yelled.
“Ma’am” the maid gasped, her cheeks flushing red. “Please, calm down! The young master is with Alpha Dante. They’re in the garden below.”
Without even a second thought, I turned and sprinted toward the elevator.
“Ma’am, wait!” the maid called after me. “At least put on a coat and shoes! It’s freezing outside!”
Lignored her, slamming my finger against the button for the ground floor. The elevator doors slid shut, and I leaned against the wall, my breath coming in ragged gasps.
As the elevator descended, I–felt a tug on Castor’s string, faint but steady. It guided me, calming my nerves just enough to keep me from breaking down completely.
The doors opened, and I stepped out into the lobby like hall of the ground floor, my bare feet padding against the cold floor. I could feel the stares of the guards and workers as I made my way to the backdoor of the mansion, but I didn’t care.
I needed to see him. I needed to hold him.
As I turned the corner, I nearly ran straight into Cajus.
His eyes widened as he took in my disheveled appearance. “Valencia?” he asked, his voice laced with shock. “What are you” But before he could finish, a booming voice cut through the air,
“What are you doing here?”
I froze, my heart skipping a beat as Dante’s voice reverberated through the garden.
I turned, my eyes locking onto him. He walked towards me, his mall frame rigid with tension. Castor’s egg was cradled in his arms, its turquoise glow faint in the early morning light.
For a moment, I was dazed, the relief of seeing my baby washing over me like a wave. But then Dante’s anger filtered through the bond, sharp and searing, snapping me out of my trance.
I moved forward instinctively, my hands reaching for Castor. “Give him to me,” I said, my voice trembling
But Dante stepped back, pulling the egg out of my reach.
My heart pounded as my nightmare replayed in my mind, Jaxon’s mocking laughter ringing in my ears. My lips trembled, and I barely managed to whisper, “Stop. Please stop.”

Asmall, rational part of me knew I was overreacting, that something was wrong with me. But that part was the overwhelming fear that consumed me
“Give him back,” I said again, my voice sharper this time.

Dante’s eyes narrowed, his expression unreadable. “Valencia, cal down,” he said evenly, though his tone held an edge of
warning.
I couldn’t calm down. I couldn’t think. My mind was a blur of panic and desperation.
“Give. Him Back,” I demanded, my hands trembling at my side
Dante’s gaze softened slightly, but he didn’t move. “He’s fine,” he said, his voice quieter now. “You’re overreacting-
“I said give him back!” I shouted, my voice cracking.
