The air outside the SNC room was heavy with tension, a mix of sterile stillness and quiet anticipation as we made our way towards a balcony.
Caius stood across from me, his arms crossed and a thoughtful frown marring his face.
“It seemed like they already knew about Mother,” Cadus said, his one edged with frustration.
The words landed hard, but I tried not to let it show. I kept my expression neutral, though my jaw tightened instinctively. “Did Father know?”
“I’m not sure,” Gaius admitted, running a hand through his hair But he didn’t seem fazed. So I think he did.”
Of course, Raiden would’ve known. By now I had realized it was typical of him to withhold information if he thought it wasn’t “relevant enough to share.
“What did they ask Miss Voss?” I asked, shifting the focus
Caius shook his head, his lips pressed into a thin line. “Nothing particularly noteworthy. Mostly about how she met Valencia and the rather gruesome details of Castor’s birth.”
The words struck a nerve. My chest tightened at the thought of Valencia’s bloodied, broken form that day. That haunting image would never leave me.
“And” 1 prompted, needing to know if there was anything else.
Caius shrugged. “What else is there supposed to be?”
“Nothing.” I muttered, dismissing the thought. There were other matters to discuss. “Well, I need your help with something
Calus raised an eyebrow, his posture relaxing slightly. “Does it have to do with all this?”
“Sort of,” I said, then quickly explained the situation with Valencia and Castor–the strange bond, the bleeding, and the devastating impact the separation had on her. I left no detail out, even though reliving it made my gut churn
Caius listened intently, his frown deepening as I spoke. When I finished, he let out a low whistle. “That’s not good. But I understand. I’ll help.”
If there was one thing Caius excelled at, it was gathering information. His methods were unorthodox, but they were effective.
“But,” Caius added, his tone turning teasing, “how exactly do you plan on dealing with Marcy?”
I smirked, the tension easing slightly. “I promised Miss Voss my protection. And if you’re serious about her, I’m sure you’ll figure it out yourself. She’s going to keep you on your toes.”
Caius scoffed, rolling his eyes. “Like your girl is any better.”
“Of course not,” I retorted, a grin tugging at my lips. “That’s why I love her.”
Caius’s eyebrows shot up, and I immediately looked away. It had just slipped out without me even realizing it. But, now that

Thad said it, I could feel it was true,
I love her. But I knew this wasn’t the right time to tell her. Not afer what just happened inside the room. My girl has learned how to hide her emotions from me,
Not that I expected her not to realize it. She was more intelligentthen she let on
And yes. I knew I should have been feeling sad or angry. I did for a while. But I couldn’t let myself get carried away.
I might not have had much hope before signing the contract, bu now after spending some time with her, I think–no, I knew I had a chance. She did like me. I could feel it every time she looked at me.
I had one year to change her mind and I fully planned on making her fall in love with me too.
Thankfully Caius didn’t ask any further questions,
We shared a knowing glance before heading back to the room. The conversations we’d just had would need more time to process, but for now, there were more pressing matters,
Valencia’s POV: Back to the Present
My breaths came in soft gasps as Dante pressed me against the cool marble of the bathroom sink. His lips were hot and insistent, claiming mine with a slow, deliberate intensity that left me breathless.
My hands gripped the edges of the sink for support as I melted into him, my resistance crumbling with every kiss. How was he so good at this?
I managed to break away for a moment, my voice a breathless whisper. “Why a fox”
Dante smirked, his golden eyes gleaning with mischief. “Well…”
He leaned down, his teeth grazing my earlobe. A gasp escaped my lips as he lifted me effortlessly, placing me on the granite/ countertop. The wall behind me was lined with mirrors, and I caught a glimpse of us–of him–as he kissed down my neck, his lips trailing fire over my skin.
His hands found the ribbon of my dress, tugging it loose with his teeth. The fabric slid down, baring my shoulders and then my breasts.
My breath hitched as his lips closed around one of my nipples, his tongue flicking over the sensitive peak. A moan escaped me, and I instinctively raised my arm, covering my face with the crook of my elbow in a futile attempt to hide my embarrassment.
“You’re shy,” Dante murmured, his voice low and husky.
The words barely registered in my haze of pleasure, but then he continued.
“You’re intelligent,” he said, his hands trailing down my thighs and hiking up the fabric of my dress
My gasp turned into a strangled moan as his fingers slipped between my thighs, finding my slick core. His thumb circled my clit with agonizing precision, and I arched into his touch, my body trembling.
A voice at the back of my mind whispered. More.
“More,” I mumbled, lost in the sensation.
Dante’s smirk widened, and his eyes burned with a predatory hunger. “Careful what you wish for.”
He added a third finger, stretching me in ways that made my mind go blank. His lips found my neck again, his kisses trailing

down to the sensitive skin behind my car, I was a writhing mess the pleasure building to an unbearable crescendo.
I didn’t realize I was crying until I whispered. “No more.. just do h
1 was too far gone, too lost in the overwhelming sensations to register my own words.
A sharp yelp escaped me when his teeth grazed my nape, dangerously close to the spot where a mate mark would be placed. Panic surged through me, and I pushed him back with sudden force.
Dante stumbled slightly, his golden eyes clearing as they shifted back to turquoise. He looked at me with a mix of confusion and realization.
“I wasn’t… I wouldn’t mark you, Valencia, not without your consent,” he said quickly, his voice steady but soft.
My chest heaved as I tried to steady my breathing, my fingers trembling. I didn’t know how to feel about his words–relieved. or skeptical
Before I could dwell on it, Dante pulled me back into a kiss. The tenderness in it erased my doubts, and I melted into him once again. His fingers worked their magic, bringing me to the edge as his kisses consumed me.
Somehow, his slacks had disappeared, and my eyes glazed over at the sight of his hard length. My hand moved instinctively. wrapping around him and eliciting a visible shudder.
Dante’s hands gripped my hips, lifting me effortlessly. “Ready?” he asked, his voice rough with restraint.
Inodded, too far gone to form çoherent words.
He thrust into me in one swift motion, stealing the air from my lungs. My climax hit me like a freight train, and I cried out. the intensity overwhelming.
Dante chuckled, his lips brushing against my ear as he whispered, “Such a good girl”
The words sent another wave of pleasure coursing through me, leaving me trembling in his arms,
He slowed his movements, giving me a moment to catch my breath. Then, he asked a question that confused me second. “Color?”
My cheeks flushed as I realized what he was asking. But there was no hesitation in my answer.
“Green,” I whispered, a smile tugging at my lips.
Dante’s smirk grew, and he began to move again, his thrusts sending me spiraling into a world of stars and bliss.
