Chapter 1
Valencia’s POV
The room was silent, but my world was shattering
Jason stood at the head of the pack meeting, his eyes gleaming with pride as he declared the news. His voice echoed through the room, each word slashing through me, sharper thany blade.
“I am pleased to announce that my dear Celeste is carrying my child, and she is already six months along. We will have a wedding next month to celebrate this joyous occasion,” Jaxon de lared, his voice thick with pride.
I clutched the delicate gold chain in my hand, the one I had made for my unborn daughter. The metal bit into my palm, grounding me, as the world around me fell apart. A chorus of whispers aimed at me spread through the room, growing louder.
“Miscarried again…”

I blinked through my tears, staring at Jaxon as if seeing him for the first time. His gaze was sharp, cold, utterly devoid of the warmth I used to know. He wasn’t looking at me, though. His eyes were fixed on Celeste, standing beside him with a soft, triumphant smile on her lips. Dressed in a pale pink silk gown that draped over her round belly, she looked radiant. I felt. bile rise in my throat as her hand caressed her stomach.
Celeste’s gaze turned to me, her lips curling into a smile that seemed sweet to anyone watching but held something dark just beneath the surface. She stepped closer, patting her belly. “Want to touch our son?” she asked, her voice like poisoned honey.
I hesitated, my breath hitching. I didn’t want to touch her. I didnt want to even look at her. But somehow, almost against my will, I reached out, my hand trembling as it rested on her swollen belly.
The moment I touched her, a wave of nausea hit me. Only a minute later Celeste’s face twisted, her smile faltering Suddenly, she let out a scream, clutching her stomach.
“What are you doing?” She gasped, looking at me in horror as Jaxon’s eyes shot at me menacingly and he stepped forward to push me away from her. I felt confusion and agony as I fell back
“Something’s wrong!” she cried, her voice thick with panic. “My baby–something’s wrong with my baby!” Jaxon quickly turned and started yelling at the pack guards to bring a doctor.
The room erupted, Gasps, murmurs, curses directed at me. My ears rang and my vision blurred as voices accused me.
“Jealous witch!”
“She wants to kill her sister’s baby!”
I stumbled back, my heart racing as the faces around me twisted with fury and disgust.
hadn’t done anything!
I tried to speak, to deny it, but my voice wouldn’t come. Black spots invaded my vision as I clutched my chest, struggling to breathe, drowning in the hatred surrounding me.

Chapter 1
The last thing I saw before everything went dark was Jaxon’s venomous glare.
When I woke, my wrists ached, and the stale air stung my throat blinked, taking in the dim light filtering through cracks in the ceiling above me, Chains bound me to a narrow cut in what looked like a damp, crumbling cell. My head pounded, and each breath sent a sharp pain through my chest.
“Awake, are we?”
The voice was soft, almost sweet, but it filled me with dread. My gaze shifted, landing on Celeste, sitting on a wooden stool beside my bed. Her face was serene, a soft, innocent smile on her lips, but her eyes held a glint of something dark.
“Celeste…” My voice came out a weak rasp. My throat burned, parched and sore. “Why are you here? What… why am I here?” She sighed softly, reaching over to a table and pouring a glass of water. She held it out to me, pressing it against my lips, and I drank, desperate for relief. But the moment I swallowed, her smile widened.
“Oh, Valencia,” she murmured, setting the glass down with deliberate care. “You’ve always been so clueless, haven’t you?”
I stared at her. “What do you mean?”
Celeste tilted her head,’ eyes gleaming with barely concealed malice. “Since you don’t have much time left anyways, I’ll let you in on a little something, dear sister.” She leaned back, crossing her legs casually as if discussing the weather. “You’re really not as smart as they all say, I can’t believe you didn’t realize up till now. sad really.”
I felt my chest ache, “What what do you mean? Why did you why are you doing this to me?” I said, tears welling up eyes as I pulled at the chains wrapped around my

My heart sank as memories flooded back, the pain and heartbreak of that loss. I nodded numbly, still not understanding. “Well, that first one wasn’t… an accident,” she said, her tone chillingly nonchalant. “It was just a little poison. Just enough to make sure that baby never saw the light of day.” She watched me, her gaze cold, waiting for the words to sink in.

“Why would I lie?” she asked sweetly. “Besides, after the first one, I didn’t even need to try that hard. The other women Jaxon slept with made sure of that.” Her smile widened, revealing pearly teeth. “It was quite amusing, actually. One little whisper in their ears, and they were all too eager to get rid of your disgrace.
My stomach twisted, bile rising in my throat. I wanted to scream, but no sound came out. She kept going, her voice filled with twisted satisfaction.
“By the third time, your womb was probably too damaged to hold any life, anyway,” she continued, her words punctuated by soft laughter. “And Jaxon… well, he didn’t care. He didn’t mind sleeping around. He knew he’d get what he wanted in the end. And so did I.”
I pulled at the chains, my skin scraping against the cold metal. I wanted to reach her, to claw that smug smile off her face. But I couldn’t move. I could only stare, heartbroken and helpless
“Why?” I choked out. “How could you do this to me?”
Celeste sighed, shaking her head as though I were a child throwing a tantrum. “Power, Valencia. It’s all about power. My child will be the only heir, the only one Jaxon will recognize.” She leaned in close, her voice a sinister whisper. “It’s not unheard of for Alphas to have multiple Omegas, you know….However I’m not one to share.”
She laughed, the sound low and cruel, watching as my fare twisted with pain. The betrayal cut deeper than any physical

A scream tore from my throat, and I lunged toward her, desperate to hurt her, to make her feel just a fraction of the pain she had inflicted on me. But the chains stopped me short, and I crucipled, dizzy and disoriented. Celeste sighed, clicking her tongue in mock disappointment.
“If only you had been a good little girl and listened,” she said softly, almost regretfully. “Then I wouldn’t have had to go to such lengths. But it’s too late now. You’re going to die. Just like your whore of a mother.”
Anger surged through me, “Be quiet, don’t you dare!” But my threats were useless. Her smirk only grew.
She held up the glass I’d drunk from earlier, her eyes gleaming with satisfaction. “Poison,” she said simply, watching the horror dawn on my face.
