“Gone?”
Not only Suzy but even Simon and Elliot were surprised by Dylan’s departure.
They had expected Dylan to cling stubbornly and refuse to leave, yet less than a day had passed before he seemingly gave up.
Elliot sneered. “So much for his so–called love for my mentor. It crumbles at the first sign of a challenge.”
Still, it was better this way. At least now, Elliot didn’t have to worry about him anymore.
However, Elliot was too optimistic. Dylan hadn’t actually left but had gone to the airport to pick up
Diana.
Desmond’s so–called “different approach” involved tricking Diana into helping. Knowing she would likely refuse if she learned the truth, Desmond told her it was about delivering something important. He emphasized that it was urgent and had to be delivered by her personally.
The ever–trusting Diana didn’t think twice. The moment she heard it was urgent, she booked a flight immediately.

Sure enough, as soon as she got off the plane and spotted Dylan, she ran toward him. Brother, I’ve brought what you asked for! What’s in here anyway? You needed it so urgently?”
“A document.” Dylan took the package and quickly changed the subject. “You must be tired from the trip. Your sister–in–law is waiting for you. Let’s go. I’ll take you to her.”
“Sister–in–law?” Diana’s brows knitted slightly. “You’re back together?”
Dylan pressed his lips into a thin line. “She’s forgiven me.”
It wasn’t entirely a lie–Suzy had forgiven him. He just hadn’t seized the opportunity when it was offered.
Hearing this, Diana’s face lit up. “Really?”
Though she’d once said she wouldn’t interfere or force Suzy into anything she didn’t want, Diana secretly hoped they would get back together.
After all, if that happened, Suzy could be part of their family forever.
The thought of her wish finally coming true made Diana absolutely thrilled. She couldn’t wait to see Suzy.
“Let’s go, let’s go! We need to hurry back. Don’t keep my sister–in–law waiting!”
Diana had no idea she was being used as a pawn.

Watching her excitement, Dylan felt a pang of guilt. What if Diana found out the truth? She’d definitely be furious.
He hesitated, debating whether to continue with the plan.
But under the current circumstances, she was the only one who could help him. There was no way he’d ask Grace to travel back and forth at her age.
Ultimately, his determination to be with Suzy overpowered his doubts.
Even if Diana got angry, so be it. Bringing Suzy back was the priority, especially with Elliot eyeing her so closely.
He had to act quickly, before Suzy’s heart wavered any further, and make her his once and for
all.
When Dylan and Diana showed up at the gate of Simon’s residence, Elliot was the first to spot them.
His brows furrowed deeply.
Didn’t Dylan leave? Why was he back?
And who was that young woman?
Was she reinforcements?
If so,
it meant this girl must be someone important to his mentor.
Thankfully, Suzy wasn’t home at the moment.
No way could Suzy find out that Dylan was back!
Elliot quickly called Suzy. “Mentor, there’s a problem in the gang, and I need to head back immediately.”
He deliberately used a tone of urgency, and as expected, Suzy sounded concerned. “What happened?”
“It’s complicated and hard to explain over the phone,” Elliot replied, his voice tense. “But it’s a bit of a mess. Don’t worry, though. You don’t need to come with me. I can handle it on my own!”
