Lemira, along with the team from her base, headed out to the stadium.
They had their tickets ready, planning to meet up inside the venue.

approached with a stern face: “Let’s forget about the Al project issue. We accept our loss, but do you really have to take Eve and Alaric to court? How could you face our parents?”
“If you all have the face to do so, why wouldn’t I?”
Lemira’s biggest vulnerability in this life was her parents.
She always carried a sense of guilt and self–blame.
“I heard from Eve last night that you’ve always felt slighted and jealous of how we treated her. But we brought her into our home for your sake, to repay a debt of gratitude. Yet, you repay kindness with enmity. You’ve let our parents down! Nor do you have the right to visit their graves.”
Asher’s words cut deep, knowing exactly how to hurt her, how to make her back down.
Evelina, feigning innocence, added, “Lemira, I know we’ve had our differences over the years, but I’ve always seen you as my only family. I was wrong this time; please forgive me just this once.”
Asher, seeing Evelina’s seemingly sensible demeanor, felt a sense of pride.
He coldly huffed at Lemira, “Now that Eve has stepped down, you should know what to do. Otherwise, you’re dishonoring the memory of our parents and Evelina’s late father!”

Evelina’s eyelid twitched; her father wasn’t dead.
This secret, one she’d never reveal, was her only claim to stay within the Langston family.
Lemira looked up at the sky, swallowing the hatred she felt at that moment.
“You’re right,” she said calmly, “family shouldn’t dwell on such matters.”
Evelina breathed a sigh of relief. Had this bitch really let it go, not pursuing the lawsuit?
