Chapter 147
“He’ll definitely come to show how much he values this cooperation,” Angela said, touching up her lipstick before stepping out of the car.
They arrived at 6:50 pm, just ten minutes before the scheduled time, but the private room was already full, with 11 people seated.
Bill was among them, and he’d even brought Zack–clearly showing how much he cared about this cooperation.
“Angie, you’re finally here! We’ve been waiting for a while. What would you like to eat?” Zack greeted her as soon as he saw her.
“Zack, quickly show them to their seats,” Bill spoke up.
Angela greeted the people from Graham Group and then noticed Nora sitting among them.
Her lips twitched slightly.
Did Bill still not realize what kind of person his newly hired head of the design department was?
“Ms. Graham, long time no see. I heard you were kidnapped by some criminals overseas. How are you? I hope you weren’t hurt?” Nora stood up with a smile that was anything but warm.
Her words were veiled in concern, but they immediately brought to mind the recent online scandals, giving Nora a chance to scrutinize Angela more closely.
“I’m fine. No need to worry about me,” Angela replied coolly, a flash of irritation in her eyes.
The people across from her picked up on the subtle mood shift and quickly became more enthusiastic, urging everyone to sit down.
One of the senior executives even shot Nora a disapproving look. After all, what happened in Angela’s private life had nothing to do with their business collaboration.
After a few casual pleasantries, they began to eat.
“Angie, try this fish. You loved it when you were little.” Bill placed a piece of fish into Angela’s bowl, his gaze warm.
Angela nearly gagged.
But she maintained the necessary politeness, offering a faint smile and murmuring a soft ” thank you“.
Suddenly, Zack said, “Angie, I want to join the company too. Can you talk to Dad for me?
“I’m about to graduate, and I don’t want to go looking for an internship. I’d rather just stay
home and work.”

“Nonsensel” Bill responded sharply. He had planned to send Zack abroad for a few years of study to polish his resume before he came back to join the company as a senior executive.
“You’re still young, Focus on studying for a few more years,” Bill said sternly.
Zack pouted. “Angle, please talk to Dad for me?”
Bill felt a swell of pride looking at the interaction. His two children got along so well despite the whispers behind his back.
The people watching couldn’t help but smile, some even ignoring the undercurrents of
tension.
Angela spoke up. “Dad, Zack isn’t a child anymore. Letting him gain some experience might not be a bad thing. That way, he’ll be ready to take over your position in the future.”
Her words were pointed, carrying a heavy implication.
Bill’s expression softened at her words.
“Exactly, Dad, look, even Angie agrees. Let me join the company. I promise I’ll work hard and never embarrass you! I’ll be the best successor to take your place one day,” Zack stood up to emphasize his point.
At that moment, Clara spoke up, “Mr. Bill, Ms. Angela is also your child, isn’t she? She’s incredibly capable. By all rights, she could be your successor as well, don’t you think?”
Alan added, “Yes, Mr. Bill, Ms. Angela has led us to several high–level victories. She’s also highly favored by Mr. Snowden.”
Bill’s smile faltered for a moment.
That little brat. She must’ve got them saying this on purpose. His company would absolutely be passed down to his biological son!
Angela was just a daughter–how could she possibly inherit the business?
