Lemira’s lips curled into a cold smirk. Ah, coercion, that’s just so typical of him.
It was they who were in the wrong, yet they insisted on dragging her into negotiations, not even allowing her the option to refuse.
“What’s going on here?”
A group of Lemira’s colleagues had gathered behind her, the team leader stepping forward to address the secretary, “Trying to kidnap her in broad daylight, are you?”
The secretary’s face went through a palette of colors. “I’m just here to take Ms. Lemira home.”
“If she doesn’t want to go, none of you can force her. We’ll call the cops otherwise.”
With so many colleagues by her side, the opposition beat a retreat.
mira turned to thank her colleagues. “Thanks, guys.”
“No biggie. We were just leaving work and saw what was happening. Of course, we’d look out for you.”
As Lemira watched her colleagues leave, her spirits lifted slightly.
After leaving the Langston family’s circle, the people she met seemed far more normal.
Lemira then hailed a cab back to the university.

Orion returned to his office, leaning over to sign a contract.
Thaddeus glanced over, “You’re really willing to hand her a whole publicly traded company, huh? Big spender.”
The Al project was promising, with a bright future ahead.
With Orion’s secret backing, once the project went public, Lemira could soon find herself a billionaire partner, perhaps by the age of 20.
“This is nothing.”
Orion noticed Lemira’s name written on the contract, elegant and graceful.
He also noted how Lemira had been keeping her distance. Before the accident, she had relied on him so much.
Orion stored the contract in a safe, murmuring, “Send a legal notice to the Langston Group!”
Although he wasn’t at the scene today, he knew what had happened.
But he hadn’t expected Lemira to set a trap; she had grown so much.
After returning to her dorm, Lemira headed straight to the gym to practice boxing.
Her mind wandered as she trained, constantly thinking about Orion’s resignation. He really stayed in Orvin?
She had thought that after he returned, they would seldom meet again.
The coach noticed her lack of focus. “Lemira, you’re not quite yourself today.”
Lying on the mat, Lemira admitted, “I’m just tired.”
“Let’s call it a day then. Do some warm–ups and skip the sparring. Don’t want you getting hurt.”
Lemíra nodded, taking a break to drink some water.
After changing, she prepared to head to the E–sports team’s base for a meeting.
After all, she was now the team captain..
Seeing her emerge from the bathroom, Janice said, “I’ve already had a meeting with the seniors to discuss the team’s issues and compiled everything. You can take a look when you get there.”
“You’ve already had the meeting?”
“Yeah, I knew you were busy this afternoon, and the base has been a bit chaotic, so I discussed it with the seniors first.”
“Thanks. So, the biggest issue is the Sinclairs pulling their sponsorship?”
“Exactly. And after they did, other companies followed suit, probably after a nudge from the Sinclairs.”
Lemira wasn’t surprised by this development.
Arriving at the base, it was noticeably quiet, a stark contrast to its usual buzz.

Lemira’s lips twisted into a familiar cold smirk. “I’ll handle it. How much are we short?”
“With the finals this weekend, we usually buy tickets for everyone to go watch. Then there’s the fan shirts, and we even invite team players for a meet and greet. We need about $10,000.”
