Suzy had half–expected Serena to drop the act and be honest with her, but instead, she had launched into another performance..
If she loved acting so much, why wasn’t she pursuing a career as an actress? She’d surely

Hiding the sharp glint in her eyes, Suzy feigned a look of being moved. “It really wasn’t you?”

“Then if it wasn’t you, who could it be?” Suzy asked with a puzzled expression. “The thing is, during their conversation that night, they even mentioned Helena!
“They said she’s not really dead, that everything was part of a scheme cooked up by you and her to bring down Evangeline together.”
“Helena not dead? That’s impossible!” Serena exclaimed. “I was there at her burial. I saw it with my own eyes!
“Whoever impersonated me must’ve said that to throw you off and waste your time chasing a false lead.”
“That makes sense,” Suzy replied. Then she asked, “Do you have anyone in mind who might have done this? Maybe someone who holds a grudge against you?”
“I live a quiet life,” Serena said with a straight face. “Aside from visiting Evangeline, I rarely go out. I haven’t offended anyone, so I truly can’t think of who would try to frame-
me.”
“Are you sure? Think carefully. This could affect not only your life but Evangeline’s as well.

“I’ve thought about it thoroughly,” Serena said, pretending to consider deeply. “There really isn’t anyone.”
Suzy sighed. “If you can’t think of anything, it looks like we’ll have to waste more time investigating.”
“Why not help me, Miss Frost?” Serena said, putting on a frightened expression. “That person is far too cunning for me to handle alone. I’m afraid I’m no match for them, so I’ll

“Fine,” Suzy said, pressing her lips together thoughtfully. “They didn’t just target you- they dragged me into this too. I’d love to find out who’s behind it and how they got the nerve to pull this off!”
“Then I’ll thank you in advance, Miss Frost!” Serena glanced at the clock. “It’s getting late. You should rest.”
“Alright.”
Once Serena left, Suzy let out a cold laugh. “Serena, let’s see what kind of tricks you’ve got up your sleeve this time.”
It wasn’t just Suzy who struggled to decipher Serena’s thoughts. Even Helena, Serena’s accomplice, seemed confused. “Why didn’t you just come clean with her?”
“Where’s the fun in that?” Serena replied, her eyes gleaming with calculation. “The game is more interesting when it’s layered. Especially the thrill of manipulating someone like Suzy, who prides herself on her intelligence. There’s nothing more satisfying!”
“Just don’t let it blow up in your face.”
“Why would it?” Serena replied confidently. “Everything is under control. There won’t be any surprises moving forward. I’m going to use Suzy to eliminate every threat that needs removing–once and for all!”
Her gaze toward Helena shifted slightly, almost imperceptibly. “Now that Dylan is isolated, it’s the perfect time for you to make your move.”
“No time like the present,” Helena said with a sinister smile. “I’ll take his life tonight.”
Decades of grudges would finally be settled tonight.
