“Boss, can I choose not to answer that?”
Allen’s evasive response was already an answer in itself. In the past, if Suzy had asked him a question like this, Allen would have responded without hesitation.
After a moment of silence, Suzy, said, “Don’t let Riley become another Nadia Fletcher.”
Suzy didn’t tell Dylan about Riley’s disappearance or her plan to visit Evangeline’s residence in the middle of the night.
When the night deepened and everyone was fast asleep, Suzy slipped out of the hotel and headed to Evangeline’s estate.
Her goal this time was to acquire a hair follicle or blood sample from Evangeline.
She needed to test her theory–to see if there was truly a blood connection between them.
But obtaining a hair follicle or blood from someone as prestigious as Evangeline wasn’t going to be easy.
After weighing her options, Suzy decided to stick with her usual method: disguise herself to get close to Evangeline, then hypnotize her.

“Lena, you seem different than before,” Evangeline said, gazing into the mirror with a probing look as the maid helped her remove her robe.
Suzy’s heart skipped a beat. She quickly bowed and said, “Mistress, did I do something wrong?”
“No, not really,” Evangeline replied, studying Suzy with an enigmatic gleam in her eyes. You just feel… different. In the past, you never dared to meet my gaze while serving me. Lately, though, you’ve grown much bolder.”
“Mistress, I couldn’t help but notice how much more beautiful you’ve become. That’s why I’ve been looking at you more than I should,” Suzy said, scrambling for an excuse.
“Is that so?” Evangeline glanced at her reflection in the mirror, a faint smile curving her lips. “I hadn’t noticed before, but now that you mention it, I do seem to look better than ever.”
She brushed a strand of hair away from her face, her expression softening into a dreamy, girlish look.

Suzy immediately sensed something off about Evangeline.
Her mind flashed to that man from the other night…
Pressing her lips together, Suzy pulled a small charm from her pocket. “Mistress, I got this charm yesterday. Isn’t it beautiful?”
She dangled the charm in front of Evangeline’s eyes, swaying it gently back and forth. Before long, Evangeline’s gaze turned dazed and unfocused.
Seeing this, Suzy softly called, “Mistress…”
She repeated it twice, but Evangeline gave no response.
Once the hypnosis took hold, Suzy began her questioning. “Evangeline, who is your greatest enemy?”
At first, there was no reaction. After a few seconds of silence, Evangeline finally responded, “Helena.”
“And besides Helena?”
“No one else.”
Suzy frowned. It seemed Evangeline wasn’t aware that someone was secretly plotting against her.
Narrowing her eyes, Suzy pressed on. “What’s your relationship with the man who came to see you in the middle of the night?”
“He is my lover.”
“What country is he from?”
“Zentora.”

Suzy felt a sharp pang in her chest as if something had struck her hard. There was one final question she wanted to ask, but fear of the answer made her hesitate.
After taking a deep breath and slowly exhaling, Suzy gathered her courage and asked, “Can you tell me more about him in detail?”
