Suzy wasn’t just angry at Allen; her frustration carried over when she got back inside and saw Dylan as well.
“Dylan, of all times, you just had to show up now. Do you have any idea? If it weren’t for your interruption, I would’ve uncovered that woman’s true face!”
She was just a second away from the truth, but everything had been ruined because of Dylan.
“I was only worried about you!”
“Do I need your concern?” Suzy snapped even more aggressively. “That woman escaped, and she’ll definitely come back. When that happens, your life could be on the line at any moment. So maybe you should start worrying about yourself!”
“Mrs. Wright, Mr. Wright rushed here immediately upon hearing something happened to you, completely disregarding his own condition,” Desmond interjected, trying to defend Dylan, who wasn’t great at explaining himself.
“And you dare speak up? Don’t you know your boss‘ situation? Instead of persuading him to be cautious, you let him run wild!” Suzy turned her anger toward Desmond. “Do you have any idea he’s being targeted? Someone is constantly out there plotting against him. If anything were to happen midway, could you bear the consequences?”
Desmond fell silent.
Watching Suzy vent at everyone and everything, Allen quietly stepped back. Their leader was furious over that woman’s escape, and it was best to keep a low profile for now.
If she suddenly turned her attention to him, he’d be in for another scolding.
Not just Allen—both Dylan and Desmond stayed silent too. The more they said, the harsher the scolding would be.
Seeing the three men remain silent, Suzy’s anger finally subsided a little.
She shifted her gaze to Dylan and said, “Go back and stay with Grandma and Diana. I don’t need you here!”
“You’re doing all this for me. I can’t let it all fall on your shoulders!”
“Who said it’s all for you? I came here to find my dad and just happened to help you with your troubles along the way. And besides, if it weren’t for Grandma and Diana, I wouldn’t even bother with you.

“You just said you came here to find your dad?” Dylan ignored her insults and latched onto the key detail.
“Yes, my dad, like my mom back then, Charlotte had secretly hidden him away. According to reliable information, my dad was spotted in this country, which is why I came here!”
Suzy intentionally brought this up to stop Dylan from overthinking. She’d just thoroughly offended that woman earlier, and there were bound to be more tricks up her sleeve. She couldn’t risk Dylan staying here any longer.
“If your dad is here, then I’ll help you find him!”
There was no way he could walk away and leave Suzy here on her own.
Suzy knew Dylan’s stubbornness too well. “So, you’re refusing to leave? Fine, then from now on, we’re strangers!”
Suzy thought this threat would work on Dylan, but to her shock, he calmly replied, “Fine. Once everything is over, we’ll do as you say.”
Suzy was so furious she almost exploded.
Pointing at him, she fumed, “Fine, you said it yourself…”
