Evelina felt so aggrieved that tears streaming down, “But I almost died.”
“Eve, you’ve always been the sensible one. Despite Lemira running off, we’re still family at the end of the day. Don’t take it too seriously” He paused, “Besides, there’s no proof that Lemira was behind all this, right?”
Evelina was so extremely upset.
Weren’t these the very words once said to Lemira? She never imagined that one day, the boomerang would come back to hit her! Suffering from the frustration of being unable to express her distress, Evelina felt if she pushed any further, her carefully crafted image

In the end, Evelina had no choice but to bite her tongue, daring not to speak of pursuing Lemira’s accountability. But she wasn’t going to let this slide.
When Lemira got back to her dorm, all her roommates were there. Janice, noticing the bandage on Lemira’s forehead, quickly asked, “You got hurt?”
“Yeah, but I’m fine now.”
As Lemira settled into her chair, Clara couldn’t help but sneer, “Don’t tell me you got ‘sick‘ and skipped the evaluation because you were scared of losing?”
Lemira just smiled, “Honestly, I could take on the entire club and still come out on top.”
“Keep talking big, Lemira. You’re just making excuses because you didn’t even show up for the evaluation, trying to pretend you’re something special.”
Lemira didn’t bother explaining herself to what she considered a clown.
Clara, not missing a beat to show off, said, “The team base is hosting a social media influencer event tonight. A bunch of big names from PixelStage are going to be there. Too bad you’re going to miss it. Only members are qualified to attend.”
Clara strutted out in her skirt and heels after her announcement.
Once Clara had left, Janice said, “You’re actually really talented. You could sign with another team and even make it to the national
team.”

Lemira wasn’t really thinking about teams at the moment. Joining the school team wasn’t a big deal to her.
As Lemira was about to take a shower, she received a call from a PixelStage manager, “Ms. Langston, I tried calling you so many times yesterday and even messaged you. Why didn’t you reply?”
“I was in a car accident yesterday, so I missed the call, just got back to the dorm from the hospital.”
“Oh, I see. Well, I remember you’re from Orvin University. There’s a social media influencer event tonight at the Orvin Team base. I’ve sent you the invite. Come join us.”
Lemira thought for a moment, “Okay.”
Might as well see what the fuss was about, to keep certain people from yapping in her ear.
After hanging up, Janice looked at her, “Got any favorite influencers? I could get their autographs for you.”
“No, that’s alright. Thanks, though.”
After her shower, Lemira changed into a white tee and jeans. She noticed a few missed calls from unknown numbers.
At the time, the phone rang again. Lemira answered, “Hello, who’s speaking?”
“Is this Lemira?” the voice on the other end was dripping with arrogance and superiority.
Lemira’s tone turned frosty, “Yes, it’s me. Who’s this?”
“I’m a lawyer for the Sinclair family. Considering the situation between you and my client Susanna, I thought we should meet in person.” “There’s nothing to discuss. I wish her the best in turning over a new leaf!”
The person on the other end was clearly agitated, “You’ve got quite the attitude, Lemira. Aren’t you worried about dragging the Langstons
