Chapter 14
I almost screamed in exhaustion.
Easton, however, remained indifferent, his voice cold and piercing.
“Since you’re so eager to stand up for her, why don’t you go to hell and join her?”
With that, Easton raised the knife in his hand and aimed it at me.
In an instant, a swarm of police officers rushed into the alley, their bright lights surrounding us.
“Don’t move. Put down your weapon.”
Easton froze, looking at me with disbelief.
“Amina, are you setting me up again?”
I snorted coldly.
“Easton, goodbye.”
I tried to run forward, but Easton grabbed me tightly. When he saw the police, he panicked, and in the chaos, he raised the knife to stab me.
“If we’re going to die, let’s die together.”
With a loud “clink,” the knife fell to the ground. Easton, clutching his stomach, widened his eyes and stared at me, filled with hatred that would never be appeased.
Easton was shot and killed by the police for attacking a hostage.
I was saved.
After the loss of her son and husband’s infidelity, Easton’s mother couldn’t bear the emotional blow and went into a mental breakdown.
Later, she followed my father–in–law to his mistress’s house, locked everyone inside, and set

the place on fire.
The events from five years ago finally came to an end.
I noticed something was wrong when Kaylee didn’t log on the next day after her expose, so I arranged for someone to investigate.
I discovered that Easton had been following both me and Kaylee recently.
After hearing about Kaylee’s situation, I called the police. To cooperate with them, I deliberately worked late that evening to give Easton an opportunity.
I had already sold off all the assets under my name.
At the company, due to my leadership’s appreciation of my talents, I wasn’t punished for the incident. In fact, after Kaylee’s livestreams brought in huge profits, I was transferred to the headquarters upon my request.
I was ready for a fresh start, boarding a flight to another city.
It was time to finally say goodbye to the person I was five years ago–the one who had been
hurt.
