Hearing Suzy mention marriage, Hawk was instantly overcome with excitement. “You’re serious? You really want to marry me?”
“What’s wrong? You don’t want to marry me?” Suzy teased, her tone playful. “You keep saying you want me to date you, but was that just for fun? You weren’t planning on taking responsibility?”
“I dream of marrying you!” Hawk said, his expression serious. “I’d do anything to make it happen sooner!”
Suzy laughed, clearly pleased. “Well then, should we pick a date?”
“I’ll get someone to find the perfect day right away!” Hawk’s excitement was so palpable it was as if he’d just won the lottery. He could hardly believe it wasn’t a dream. “What about announcing it publicly?”
“That’s up to you,” Suzy replied with a soft smile. “I’ll leave everything in your hands”
Hawk was so overwhelmed with joy that his voice shook as he spoke. “I’ll have the PR team draft an official statement immediately and announce to everyone that we’re getting married!”
After waiting so many years, he had never dared to dream of this moment. Yet here it was, happening so suddenly and perfectly.
“Alright,” Suzy replied, her voice soft and shy like that of a bashful bride.
Afraid she might change her mind, Hawk practically sprinted out of the room.
After he left, Suzy’s gaze fell on the cufflink he had set aside, and her expression shifted, darkening slightly.
Dylan’s recent days were consumed by two things: work and finding Suzy.
When he wasn’t at the office, he was silently following her every move. Meals went uneaten, and sleep was almost nonexistent. He had lost a noticeable amount of weight, looking far more haggard than before.
Everyone around him was deeply concerned but utterly helpless. Dylan had made it clear that no one was to interfere in matters between him and Suzy.
His behavior bordered on self–torture, fully embodying the phrase “you reap what your

If he’d only shown a little compassion back then, Suzy wouldn’t have been so heartless
now.

So, the group decided to shield Dylan from seeing the announcement.
“I’ll have someone block his phone and the company’s network,” Victor suggested. “And tell Desmond to inform the staff that no one is to mention this in front of Dylan.”
As he spoke, Victor dialed Desmond’s number, but before he could say much, Desmond’s voice on the other end interrupted him.
“It’s too late!”
Victor’s brows furrowed tightly. “Desmond, as a competent assistant, the moment you saw that news, you should have dealt with it immediately. You know better than anyone how much your boss loves Suzy. Aren’t you worried he’ll do something drastic because of this?”
Desmond sounded utterly exasperated. “Do you think I didn’t want to? Before I could even do anything, Suzy herself called him directly!”
“What did you just say?” Victor froze, disbelief etched across his face. “What is she playing at? Does she think Dylan barely surviving last time wasn’t enough, and now she wants to twist the knife even deeper?
“Sure, Dylan hurt her in the past, but wasn’t that because of Anne’s lies? Without Anne manipulating him, Dylan never would have acted the way he did! And what about her? Does she think she’s blameless? If she’d been honest with Dylan from the beginning, would he have doubted her intentions at all?”
