Charlotte’s expression darkened the moment she saw Suzy. Turning to Ruby, she demanded with evident displeasure, “Ruby Andrews, you dare betray me?”
Ruby remained silent, staring at her sister in disbelief. This was the same sister she had trusted so deeply, the one she had defended all these years. And yet, in Charlotte’s eyes, she was the first to blame.
