Even though her aunt had escaped back then, she hadn’t deliberately hidden her identity over the years. Yet, she had managed to live freely without fear. Meanwhile, Suzy had spent her life on the run.

Ruby seemed to read her mind and responded with an eerie calm. “It’s because of her that I even had the chance to meet your father.
“Your father is gone now. If she were gone too, there would be nothing left to connect me to him. But by letting her live, I could watch her from the shadows and relive the sweet memories I had with him. That’s why I allowed her to live for so many years, even though she hid you away from me.”
Her tone suddenly turned cold, her gaze hardening. “If it weren’t for her, you wouldn’t even have had a chance to survive back then.
“Suzy, I am who I am today because of your father. If he hadn’t been so heartless back then, I never would’ve become this version of myself.”
Suzy let out a sharp, bitter laugh. “So, by your logic, if he had abandoned my mother to be with you, he wouldn’t have been heartless? You knew he was married, yet you still chose to meddle. And you think that makes you the victim?”
Ruby’s lips curled into a cold smile. “I never asked him to leave your mother. I would’ve been content to share him with her. I loved him enough to reduce myself to nothing, but all he wanted was to push me away.”
Dealing with someone so obsessed was pointless. Continuing the conversation was nothing but a waste of time.
Still, Suzy wasn’t about to take Ruby’s words at face value. She needed more than her one- sided account to piece together the truth of what had happened all those years ago.
Suzy turned and gave her orders. “Take her to Mark and lock them up together. Let the three of them have a nice little family reunion.
In the room where Tanya and Mark were being held, Ruby’s arrival didn’t spark any joy or relief in Mark–only a look of unfamiliarity.
This reaction didn’t escape Suzy’s notice as she watched through the surveillance feed.
Not only that, but Ruby showed no trace of maternal affection toward Tanya. Even when Tanya questioned her directly, “Are you the one who killed the Frost family?”

Already furious, Ruby’s words pushed Tanya over the edge.

“Spare me the victim act,” Ruby snapped, her voice icy. “You were born for my purposes. If I hadn’t needed you, I never would have had you.”
As the two women argued, Mark stood silently to the side, watching without saying a word. Even when he finally stepped forward to intervene, it was only to pull Tanya away. He never touched Ruby, not even once.
If Mark truly felt the deep love for Ruby that he had claimed, it was impossible that he wouldn’t have shown some physical connection or concern for her.
They were both lying.
Ruby and Mark didn’t know each other at all. And Ruby wasn’t the true culprit behind the Frost family’s tragedy.
The question remained: who was Ruby covering for?
Suzy realized that confronting Ruby directly wouldn’t yield any answers. Ruby would never confess the truth willingly.
