Suzy had long realized that Yara wasn’t just an ordinary pawn.
As Allen had pointed out, if she were, she wouldn’t have survived this long. Everyone Suzy had encountered before–anyone tied to the killer–had been eliminated almost immediately after being captured. Yet Yara remained unharmed, alive and well.
That was precisely why Suzy had sent her to the police and secretly planted a tracker on her. It wasn’t a guaranteed plan, more of an experiment to see what would happen. But as it turned out, her hunch was correct. Yara’s importance likely ran much deeper, perhaps even closely tied to the killer.
Following the tracker’s signal, the trail led out of the country. That same day, Allen reported back. “Boss, we lost her.”
Suzy wasn’t surprised. “Looks like she suspected the tracker all along and used it to mislead us.”
The intent was clear. It was to stall her and waste her time.
But Suzy wasn’t deterred. She had prepared for this.
After all, she didn’t plant just one tracker.
Having faced the killer for years, Suzy knew better than anyone how cunning they were. She’d taken precautions, anticipating such a move.
This time, she decided to go in person, bringing along Riley, Raven, and Avalon to assist
her.
The journey went smoothly–at least, it would have if it weren’t for two familiar
annoyances.

Dylan and Hawk had, once again, tagged along.
Suzy noticed them midway through the trip. Each of them was in their own helicopter, tailing hers persistently. She tried shaking them off several times but failed.
Eventually, she gave up..
Fine. Let them tag along. As long as they stayed out of her way, she could tolerate it.
The tracker eventually led her to a nightclub. There, Suzy finally caught up to Yara.
But the Yara standing before her was completely different from the sweet and innocent image she used to project. She now wore a tight black bodycon dress that accentuated her curves, exuding a bold, sultry confidence.

Seated on either side of Yara were two good–looking men, both calling her “Miss Goodwin” as they fawned over her, pouring her drinks.
Goodwin?
Even her name was fake.
“How thorough,” Suzy thought with a wry smile. It was the first time she’d ever been deceived so completely.
Instead of anger, a smile tugged at her lips as she walked over to Yara, who was enjoying being pampered. “Yara, look who’s here. Your best friend’s come to see you!”
Yara’s head whipped around at the sound of Suzy’s voice, her expression darkening instantly. “Damn it. You still managed to find me!”
Suzy’s smile remained as calm as ever. “Of course. You went missing, so I got worried and came looking for you. What’s wrong? Not happy to see me?”
Yara waved her hand, dismissing the two men at her side, her expression now icy as she stared at Suzy. “What do you want?”
Suzy sat down across from her. “You already know the answer to that.”
Yara’s gaze darkened. “I’ll say it again–I have no idea who you’re looking for.”
“Miss Goodwin…” Suzy deliberately used her alias, her tone laced with mockery. “You even lied about your name. Why should I believe anything you say?”
Yara’s face faltered, her composure slipping momentarily. “Yes, my identity is fake, but I really don’t know that person. No matter how many times you ask, my answer won’t change!”
Before Suzy could reply, Yara suddenly grabbed the wine glass from the table and flung its contents at her. Suzy leaned back, narrowly dodging the splash. Taking advantage of the distraction, Yara vaulted over the couch and sprinted toward the exit.
Riley let out a low chuckle, watching her flee. “So, she knows martial arts too.
Raven chimed in, her eyes gleaming with a competitive spark. “How about a little race? Let’s see who catches her first.”
Riley smirked. “You? A mother who still hasn’t fully gotten her figure back? Think you can outrun me?”
Raven snorted. “Why don’t we find out?”
With that, the two of them bolted in Yara’s direction, racing after her at top speed.
