Suzy glanced at her aunt, amused. “How can you be so sure?”
“Who else could it be?” Charlotte’s face darkened with anger. “You just acquired a major share of Wright Corporation’s stocks, and suddenly Matthew and Julian show up? This can’t be a coincidence.”
“Or maybe it wasn’t Dylan,” Suzy said with a light chuckle. “It could’ve been an old enemy of mine. After all, there’s someone out there who wants me dead even more than he does.”
Charlotte fell silent for a moment before responding, “You might be right. Wherever Matthew and Julian are now, you need to find them and ask who’s pulling their strings.”
Suzy’s expression shifted subtly. “They’ve disappeared.”
“Disappeared?” Charlotte frowned deeply. “That means one of two things. Either they’re hiding, afraid of your retaliation, or…”
She picked up her phone from the bedside table and dialed a number. “Find out where Matthew and Julian are right away.
After hanging up, Charlotte pulled Suzy into a conversation, talking for a while before finally urging her to get some rest. Suzy had just stood up when Charlotte’s phone rang again.
Answering it, her expression hardened as she looked at Suzy. “It’s Dylan. He’s the one who took them.”
Suzy raised an eyebrow. “So, you were right. It really was him.”
“He’s set on opposing you,” Charlotte said, gritting her teeth. “He’s taking advantage of my condition, knowing you’re on your own, to bully you over and over again!”
Seeing her aunt’s frustration, Suzy gently reassured her. “Don’t worry, Aunt. If Dylan wants to play, I’ll play along.
Charlotte frowned. “What are you planning?”
Suzy’s lips curled into a mysterious smile. “That’s a secret for now. Get some rest. I’m heading back to my room.”
Once back in the study, Suzy glanced at her tampered computer, her eyes glinting with a cold light.
