Suzy was delighted, though not surprised, by Grace and Diana’s visit. “Grandma, Diana, I’m sorry to have kept you waiting!”
She had just finished a meeting and only found out afterward that they had been waiting for her for quite some time. It was Grace who had insisted to not disturb her.
Grace took Suzy’s hand, her face full of affection and concern. “My dear girl, you’ve lost weight!”
It was true that Suzy had grown thinner recently. Her body hadn’t fully recovered, and she was also burdened with the work of rebuilding the Harlow Corporation. There was no way she would let something Claude valued be destroyed.
Looking at Grace’s expression of pure concern, Suzy felt as if all her exhaustion melted away in an instant.
She guided Grace to sit on the sofa. “You’re one to talk, Grandma. You’ve lost weight too!”
As she spoke, Suzy checked Grace’s pulse. “Are you feeling unwell?”
Grace, having heard from Diana about Suzy’s reputation as a miracle doctor, knew there. was no point in trying to hide anything from her. She decided to come clean. “I’ve had trouble eating the past few days. Otherwise, I would’ve come to see you sooner. I didn’t
want to worry you.”
Patting Suzy’s hand gently, Grace added with a smile, “It’s just old age catching up with me. Don’t worry.”
How could Suzy not be worried? Turning to Diana, she said, “Next time Grandma feels unwell, call me immediately.”
Diana nodded. “I will.”
After exchanging a glance with Grace, Diana said, “Suzy, we came here today mainly to
about Anne. If she tries to contact you, don’t engage with her, no matter what she
warn you
says.
“She came back with my brother today, but Grandma has made it clear she doesn’t approve of their marriage.”
Suzy had suspected the reason for their visit from the moment they arrived. She smiled reassuringly. “Don’t worry, I won’t engage with her.”
She could feel the genuine care and concern from Grace and Diana. In truth, they could have simply called her about this matter. But instead, they made the effort to come all this way–Grace even pushing through her illness to do so.

Suzy offered to have them stay the night, but both were adamant about heading back. Despite her attempts to persuade them, they wouldn’t budge.
Suzy knew they didn’t want her to overextend herself. If they stayed, she’d feel obligated to look after them, which would add to her burden.
Understanding their intentions, she didn’t insist. Instead, she prepared a few
prescriptions for Grace to take home and reminded Diana again to call her immediately if Grace experienced any discomfort.
When she escorted them downstairs, she was surprised to find Anne waiting there.
“Suzy…” Anne stepped out of the car, one hand supporting her lower back while the other rested on her stomach as if deliberately drawing attention to her pregnancy.
The sight of her made Diana’s temper flare instantly. “Who do you think you are, Anne? I can’t believe you had the nerve to come here!”
It was a good thing Diana and Grace had come earlier, or who knew how Anne would’ve twisted the truth with her words.
Anne raised an eyebrow at Diana. “Oh, my little sister–in–law, why the double standard? Isn’t it normal to treat your fellow sister–in–law kindly?”
She glanced at Grace and Diana with mock concern. “I came all this way to pick you and Grandma up. I heard you both came to visit Suzy, and I was worried about your safety on the way back. Grandma is getting on in years, and your health isn’t what it used to be, so I thought I’d bring my pregnant self over to escort you home.”
Anne’s tone was syrupy sweet, but it didn’t hide the smugness beneath. She pulled an invitation card from her bag and extended it to Suzy.
“Oh, and I brought this for you, Suzy. It’s an invitation.”
She gave a deliberate pause, then added with a coy smile, “This is from Mr. Dylan. Oh, I suppose I should call him something else now.
“Suzy, this is a personal invitation from my husband, inviting you to attend our wedding.”
