Chapter 0187
As the bullet left the chamber, Suzy’s reflexes kicked in, and she twisted her head just in time.
A fraction of a second slower, and it would’ve been over. Only someone with her skills could’ve managed such a move; for anyone else, dodging that shot would’ve been out of reach.
Seeing her dodge, the bearded man immediately fired again.
Suzy, already pushing her limits, had no chance to avoid the second shot aimed right at her chest. But before it could hit, a powerful force yanked her out of the bullet’s path. The person who shielded her took the hit instead.
Regaining her footing, Suzy’s eyes widened as she recognized her rescuer. “Dylan?”
He gave her a brief glance before focusing on the threat.
He lunged forward, launching a fierce, unyielding assault on the bearded man.
Suzy, not wasting a moment, turned to free Diana from her captors.
With Diana safely out of harm’s way, Dylan’s moves became even fiercer, his attacks calculated and merciless.
Within moments, he had the bearded man incapacitated.
Instead of delivering a final blow, he handed him off to Desmond, who had just arrived. Get the information we need,” he ordered, and Desmond quickly hauled the man away.
Suzy guided Diana to the sofa, carefully checking her over.
Other than the effects of the sedative, Diana seemed unharmed and would recover with
some rest.
Once Diana was settled, Suzy took the medical kit and approached Dylan.
She kept her face impassive as she said, “Sit down.”
Dylan gave her a glance before pulling a chair over.

Without a word, Suzy carefully cut open the fabric over his shoulder, revealing the wound. Her hands moved deftly as she removed the bullet, applied the antiseptic, and bandaged
the area.
When she finished, she gave a final instruction in a professional tone, “No showers for a while.”
After giving her instructions, Suzy turned to leave.

But Dylan, clearly displeased with her indifferent attitude, caught her wrist. “If I remember correctly, this is the second time I’ve saved you. Is this how you treat someone who’s saved your life? Or is it just because it’s me that you can’t even manage a proper thank you?”
Suzy met his
gaze, her expression cool and detached.
“Thank you,” she said flatly. “Is that good enough?”
Dylan’s face darkened. “Do you think it is?”
“You wanted a thank you, and I said it.” She yanked her wrist from his grip. “Whether it satisfies you or not is your problem.”
Before she could step away, he reached out, pulling her onto his lap and wrapping an arm around her waist.
Suzy reacted instantly, driving her elbow back with force, catching him off guard. Pain shot through his injured shoulder, forcing him to let her go as he muttered, “Trying to murder your own husband, are you?”
“Correction–ex–husband,” she replied, standing and brushing herself off.
But her retort faded as she noticed the fresh blood soaking through the bandage on his shoulder.
For a moment, she considered leaving him to deal with it himself, but seeing the blood flowing heavily, she stepped forward to re–bandage the wound. The fall had reopened the injury, causing a blood vessel to rupture. As blood continued to seep through, his face began to pale visibly.
Seeing the seriousness of the situation, Suzy knew they had to act quickly. To avoid alarming Diana if she woke up, she quietly guided Dylan into her room.
