The man, his arms crossed, stood in front of Suzy with an air of arrogance, his bulky frame and rough beard giving him an imposing presence.
“How about a game, Miss Suzy?” he suggested with a smirk.
Suzy’s eyes narrowed. “Release Diana first, and I’ll play along.”
“Bold offer, but Diana stays,” he replied, his lips curving into a taunting smile. “What’s a game without an audience, after all?”
With that, he called out, “Come on in!”
Within moments, the men Suzy had incapacitated with her needles re–entered.
She cast a quick look at the bearded man, her suspicion deepening.
This man wasn’t just any opponent–he’d freed himself from the nerve lock and quickly restored the others as well.
They had clearly come prepared and were heavily invested in this mission.
The fact that they’d managed to find her private island, known to almost no one, raised alarm bells. Even her closest allies hadn’t known the exact location. Only someone with an intricate knowledge of her movements could have orchestrated this ambush.
Hawk.
Since his abrupt departure from Gold Eagle Heights, he’d gone silent–an unsettling sign, knowing his vengeful nature. He was clearly waiting, choosing his moment to strike back.
Suzy’s thoughts snapped back as the bearded man turned to his crew. “Alright, boys. Give Miss Frost the fight she’s looking for.
“Yes, sir!” they answered, immediately closing in around her, prepared to attack.
Suzy’s eyes narrowed in steely resolve as she lashed out at the man closest to her, sending him stumbling backward. But just as she regained her stance, she saw a brutal slap land across Diana’s face, drawing blood to her lip.
“Damn it!” Suzy’s voice dripped with fury as she shot a lethal glare at the man who’d struck–Diana.
The bearded leader smirked, unfazed. “Miss Diana may be here as an observer, but such a performance can’t come free of charge,” he taunted, raising a brow at Suzy. “Shall we continue, Miss Frost?”
His message was clear: any resistance from her would only lead to more punishment for Diana.

Suzy clenched her fists, her gaze was sharp as a hawk’s.
“This game,” she spat, “is indeed something.‘
“Glad you approve,” he said with an even broader smirk.
“I designed it just for you, Miss Frost–nothing brings me more pleasure than your appreciation.”
He gestured to his men. “Keep going!”

From then on, Suzy evaded rather than attacked, every move calculated to avoid triggering retaliation against Diana. But facing multiple assailants, fatigue began to take its toll.
Soon, she was at a disadvantage.
The bearded man’s grin widened. “This is fun, but maybe it’s time to raise the stakes.”
He withdrew a handgun from his belt, advancing step by step until the cold barrel rested against Suzy’s forehead. At the same time, another gun was placed against Diana’s.
With a dark gleam in his eyes, he drawled, “They say you’re the best shot, Miss Frost, nearly unmatched. I’m not bad myself. Care to test that?”
Suzy knew she couldn’t flinch–not with Diana’s life hanging in the balance. But neither could she simply allow this man to control her. She wasn’t one to cower.
In an instant, her gaze steeled, and she seized the man’s wrist, twisting sharply to redirect the gun. But as she did, he pulled the trigger.
