To prevent Hawk from targeting Diana again, Suzy returned and immediately instructed. Allen to increase the number of hidden guards around the hospital. Yet, despite a few days. passing, Hawk hadn’t made a single move.

In truth, she visited every night–quietly slipping in and out without the siblings noticing.
She was wary of them bringing up the topic of remarriage… or maybe it wasn’t so much. fear as it was the discomfort of discussing it in front of Diana, given her recent recovery.
After such a critical surgery and a near–death experience, all Diana seemed focused on was pushing her back together with Dylan.

Diana’s voice came through sweetly. “Suzy, actually… I saw you last night.”
Suzy was left speechless.
Suzy had gone around two in the morning because she was confident that Diana was fast asleep.

Her words were sincere.
In those three years, Suzy had given her whole heart, receiving nothing in return, and it had felt profoundly unfair to Diana.
Suzy hadn’t expected this reasoning.
“Diana, everything I did in the past was my own choice. Your brother doesn’t owe me anything. From the moment I decided to leave, I knew we wouldn’t be together again. So, no matter how much he’s changed, my decision won’t change. But thank you. I’ll always remember the kindness you and Grandma have shown me.”
“Alright!” Diana’s voice softened. “I promise I won’t bring it up again. I’ll support whatever your decision may be.”
Though she truly wished for them to reunite, if Suzy no longer held any desire for her brother, Diana would respect her choice.
They chatted a bit longer, and just as they were about to end the call, Diana’s voice softened. “From now on, I’m calling you Sis. Even if we’re not related by blood, you’re still family to me.”
