Suzy let out a cold laugh. “Julian, is this all you’ve got? If you’ve got the guts, why don’t you come at me yourself?”

She strode up to him, and with a swift motion, slapped him across the face.
“You…you…” Julian stammered, shocked that she dared lay a hand on him. “Who gavE YOU the guts, you-”

With every insult he spat out, Suzy landed another slap.
Before long, his face was swollen and red, and he hadn’t even managed to lift a hand in defense. Every time he raised his arm, she struck him again, shutting him down until his voice faded entirely.
Finally, when he’d fallen silent, Suzy smirked. “Got anything else to say?”
Julian, seething with anger, bit his tongue, his eyes blazing with defiance, but he dared not speak.
“What are you staring at? Say something!” Suzy raised her hand again.
Julian instinctively flinched, shrinking back. “Nothing!”
“Since there’s nothing else, get out of here!” She pointed to the steward lying on the ground. “And take him with you–both of you, out of the Harlow house!”
“What did you say?” Julian looked at her in disbelief. “You’re just a caretaker! What gives you the right to throw us out?”
Just as he finished, several Harlow family relatives walked through the door. The sight of them lit up Julian’s face as if he’d found his salvation. “Uncles, you’re here just in time! You have to back me up on this.”
He pointed accusingly at Suzy. “This mere caretaker thinks she can throw me out of the Harlow family!”

The men glanced at Suzy, and one of them, quick to speak, said, “Miss Frost, even if you’re nów considered Mr. Goodwin’s god–granddaughter, remember, this is the Harlow family!”
“Exactly. Claude is gone now, so it’s you who should be leaving.”
As the crowd’s voices overlapped in a chaotic mix, Suzy spoke up calmly. “Sorry to disappoint, but I’m not going anywhere. In fact, I’ll be taking over Harlow Corporation.”
Her words hit like a bombshell, especially for Julian, who looked utterly shocked. “What nonsense are you spouting?”
Without another word, Suzy pulled out her phone and played a recording she’d prepared in advance.
“I, Claude Harlow, willingly entrust all of Harlow Corporation’s affairs to Suzy Frost.”
“Impossible!” Julian’s face twisted in rage. “Claude, no matter what, would never hand the company over to you. That recording must be fake!”
“If not me, then who else? Someone like you?” Suzy sneered. “Feel free to verify the authenticity of the recording right now.”
Seeing her confidence, Julian’s bravado wavered.
Then, Suzy drew a knife from her waist and toyed with it for a moment before throwing it toward the chattering group of elders, her voice cold. “If you have something to say, speak up. I can’t hear you.”
The knife flew past one man’s ear, slicing off a lock of his hair, and the previously vocal crowd fell silent.
A few of them exchanged wary glances before one spoke up, “Well, if it’s Mr. Harlow’s final wishes, then clearly Miss Frost has the capability to lead. We have no objections.”
Suzy swept her gaze over them. “And as for my decision to throw Julian out, any objections there?”
They all shook their heads hastily. “None whatsoever.”
Suzy looked at Julian. “Hear that?”
Julian, blindsided by how things had turned, could only grit his teeth in anger. But faced with Suzy’s ruthless determination, he didn’t dare argue further and slunk toward the exit.
At the doorway, he spotted the knife she’d thrown, lodged in the doorframe. Turning back, he saw Suzy bowing respectfully before Claude’s memorial. His eyes narrowed with sudden fury, and in one swift motion, he pulled the knife free and charged at her.
