Chapter 51

Chapter 51

Enoch is gone

It has been three months and the only thing he’s left me with ais a postit notehis pathetic way of in mydogy & you me. I’ve spent these months looking at myself in the mirror, wondering what could have gone wrong with me forms as leave

Was I not strong enough to keep him from leaving

I sure as hell don’t think so, after surviving days stuck in that warehouse with nothing to car and drink and with relate torture. I also did not dare breathe a word of his identity or the questions they’ve burned me with motren wons for

I survived. I thrived and yetwhy did he leave

Then I look down at my appearance

I don’t know everything about the man I picked up from the forest but there’s one thing I could say it was that Eands head never taken a glance at me and saw me for who I was on the outside. Those piercing forest green eyes hat das car through the windows of my soul. He saw me for who I was

So it was not my appearance he left me for

Which leads me to one thing

Love

Perhaps it was me who didn’t love him enough or it was his. Or in all sense, I wonder if he actually even loved me at alll

He never told me. Nor did I with him

I stare at myself in the mirror, wiping the smudged lip gloss on the edge of my lips. The woman looking back at me is a different one from the woman who had rot on the bed, crying her heart out. This one is wearing a suit, fitted jeans, zad

ankle boots.

You still kept these?I turn from the mirror to Kallias. He’s holding a box of the music tapes we’ve had when his father insisted we watch historical plays for him to gain knowledge about politics if he somehow caught up on Romeo and Julien

I kept tapes after tapes of it in a cassette, sort of a reviewer if he needs to rewatch the whole thing Television has yet to arrive in the pack back then

A chuckle slips out and I walk over to him, the block heels from my boots clicking on the wooden floor. I watch the box off his hands, Yes, I did. I kept them for me, by the way.” I roll mye eyes, putting the box along with the other luggages

Kallias laughs, leaning his head back and running his hand down his face. Damn, you were obsessed with me.He playfully teases. I shake my head and ignore him

For the last few months, Kallias and I have turned to neutral, to a slightly comfortable mutuals. He’s somehow accepted my feelings has now gone down the drain for a certain someone and that I can’t give another wave of love to another person— worse, not with him again

I don’t know how we turned civilized, but I’m just glad he’s not the same wild animal from before. I haven’t forgiven him or Seraphina but I’ve moved on enough to slide it down the depths of memory lane, never to be seen again

Is this everything? He asks, wiping the bead of sweat on his forehead. He volunteered to help me move. You don’t have much things as I thought.” He murmurs

That’s probably because Ser hogged everything you bought me back then.I shrug and anot eyes about how he has treated me then, even way before Hecame to our lives

Chapter 51

Well, he didn’t really know Ser’s doings then

Don’t sweat it. I don’t have anything to wear all those dresses forI mutter, pulling the suitcases into the Uber ride I called -I may be a wolf, but I’m still just a girl. All hell be damned if I let my cheeky ass pup carry all these in her back

I glance back at Kallias who’s now gone silent noe. I bite the insides of my cheeks before looking down at the box once more. Although they’d really be helpful on the interview soon.”

Kalliaseyes softened and he smilesthe kind that melts inside and have girls closing their legs incase they somehow drip down there. Kallias is smoking hot and he was, in my eyes too until now

Just not the kind of guy I would fuck now that I’ve had a taste of the raw, monstruous side of sex from him

I really need to go now.I flash another smileone genuine enough to reach my eyes, nodding at the Uber behind me. I’ve already said goodbye to Gamma Aabel last night, although he didn’t take it too well, considering how much he’s treated me like his own daughter

But he still granted me access out of the borders with the Alpha’s permission then

Kallias takes a step forward, opening his arms and I leap on it, hugging him tight. This might be the last embrace I would be having with anyone in this pack. So even with it being my oncecrazy ex, I held onto it, a tear slipping my eyes

Goodbye, Taryn.” Kallias murmurs. I close my eyes, inhaling his scent from his shoulders. Right now, I’m in the arms of that same boy I met the moment I was adopted in. This is the kid I played with. The man I fell in love with with such youthful heart

Farewell, Kallias.” I mutter and slipped off of him and to the backseat of the car. The engine roared to life and I keep my eyes trained on him as he waved back. I steal one last glance at the pack I grew up in. The room I survived the last two decades of my life

Goodbye

I’m fucking nauseous

It’s been four hours in the car and I think I’m a thread away from lashing out from this stupid traffic. Werewolf Free City is a human inhabited werewolf land. Kind of the vice versa of those in paranormal movies. This place is filled with ninety- percent wolves and yet the human working here have no clue

It’s a city of hope and dreams for people like me who are escaping the lives they have been forced to live

We’re here, Miss.” The driver mutters, stoping the engine, and I turn to the window. Tall buildings lines up the street. Women in high fashion litters around with their phones on their faces. I can easily tell who are the humans or not just by the way they carry themselves around

I’ll take your things out.” He steps out of the car and I follow suit. I look up at the building I’m about to live. It’s an apartment building withI look down on the brochure in my hand, twenty seven floors. My unit isd at seventeen

The driver unloaded the last of my stuff and I turn to him, smiling as I hand him some tip. Thanks! He calls and heads back in his car, driving off

I look up at the busy place, the people, and the tall complex I’m about to spend the next years of my life in. Shit, this is fucking scary. How did no one talk me out of it

Oh fuck it. I’m going to live

I walk inside the entrance, automatic doors swinging open

Chapter 51

Seventeen floors is no joke with all these carryons on my back. It’s a good thing the receptionist and the employees were kind, or I really would have killed someone by the nerves I’m getting right now. Its like having your period all over again

Ting

The elevator halts to a stop and I pull out two suitcases with bags on top of it and a backpack on my back. I pull out my room key

31021 murmur the unit number as I walk around the hallways, my eyes shifting up and down the room doors to the keys in my hand. My eyes light up when I spot it. It’s right by the end corridor, and a smile breaks out of my lips

1 haul everything, the sound of tires screeching the marbles. Slowly, I stick the keys in, fumbling. I have a card to open this in a second but it’s in my bag and I’d rather not open it in the middle of the hallway

Open the fuck up.” I grit my teeth, twisting and turning at the doorknob and trying on different positions to lodge the keys in. Oh come on, not my first day

What do you think you’re doing?”

Goddess!”

The metal clatters down the marbles as I gasp from the sudden voice behind me. I turn around to see a tall, stupid hot blond man in nothing but his grey sweatpants, his torso in fullon glory. Oh man, looks like someone played favorites making us

Hello to you too.” I reply and picks the keys off the floor, groaning with the heavy bag on my back. I insert the key again

I said what are you doing? He crosses his arms in the corner of my eyes and walks close to me with a Are you seriously ignoring me?look. I don’t look at him

I had a bitchass ride on the way here, and there are around ten tons of stuff on my back. I don’t need him testing how much patience there is left right now

I’m calling security. That is clearly not you room. No one lives beside me for a long time.He pulls out his phone from his pocket and my blood begins to boil. Well, now there is, asshat.I murmur

What did you just call me?He steps closer, trying to intimidate me

Goddess, what is he, a fiveyearold

Please step away or you’re the one getting escorted by security.” I mutter, looking down at his chest. His brows furrows at me before his eyes widen, shifting up and down at my eyes and his body. My eyes and his body

A crimson tint runs up his cheeks and I internally smirk. Realizing what he’s doing, he steps back, running to his room and slamming it behind him. I’m part of the complex association and I’ll definitely get back at you!He yelled and the door closes

Whatever, dimwit

What a fucking day.I mutter. What’s next

I finally open the door and all the anger has gone down the drain

I’m fucking starting a new life

Way to go, Taryn
