Alaric seemed to falter, his face turning pale, unable to utter another word.

Looking up at the sky, Lemira vowed not to repeat the same mistakes.
“Hey, lady, you seem down.”
Suddenly, a middle–aged man appeared beside her, eyeing Lemira with ill intent, “How about coming over to my place for a drink? “No need.”
Lemira, wary, declined and turned to walk towards more crowded areas.
“Come on, pretty lady, don’t go. I know where you live. Are those two guys keeping you? How much are they paying you? I’ll double it” Lemira quickened her pace, running towards the outside, her pursuer’s breath heavy behind her. A chill ran down Lemiral’s spine, not expecting a mere walk to turn into an encounter with a creep.
Suddenly, someone grabbed her hand, causing her to scream.
“Lemira!” Orion held her hand, pulling her into his embrace, “What’s wrong?”
Opening her eyes, Lemira saw him. She instinctively looked towards the dark path of the small garden, but no one was there.
She calmed herself and said, “Some creep was harassing me.”
“Where?”
“Over there, but he seems to have backed off.”
Probably because he saw Orion, the man had chickened out.
Orion, seeing her pale face, sighed, “I told you not to come down here alone.”
Lemira, still shaken, replied, “How was I to know I’d be so unlucky?”
She then realized she was in his arms and awkwardly stepped back to maintain distance.
Orion withdrew his hand, asking, “Should we call the cops?”
“Yeah, let’s call the cops.”
At that moment, an elderly lady chimed in, “That path’s camera has a blind spot. People have called the cops before, but they never caught anyone. Sweetheart, you shouldn’t wander alone at night in deserted places. It’s dangerous.”
Lemira nodded, not expecting such an ordeal.
Orion’s eyes flashed coldly, but he quickly returned to his usual demeanor, “Let’s head back first.”
Lemira no longer wished to stay outside, feeling as if eyes were still on her.
As she went back in the apartment, sitting on the couch, her mind replayed the moments earlier.
“Have some hot chocolate.”
Lemira saw a pair of slender hands offering her the warm cup, took it over and said softly, “Thanks.”
Orion, seeing her pale face, spoke gently, “I’ll get to the bottom of this creep issue. As long as there are people, they leave traces. There’s no such thing as a blind spot in this world.”
If Lemira was to continue living here, it was imperative to eliminate any potential threats.
Lemira looked up, “You mean hack into the surveillance system?”
“Kid, don’t mix up TV dramas with reality. That’s illegal,” Orion lectured with a serious tone. “What you need now is to get some rest.
Lemira hesitated, “But that man knows where I live, and about you guys.”
