Dylan bringing up the topic of their marriage was the last thing Suzy expected.
For him, their marriage had always been something to ignore and hide.
Besides his grandmother and sister, no one else–certainly not any of the Harlow family relatives–had ever known about it.
Now that they were divorced, he was suddenly willing to discuss it?
So, he couldn’t stand to see her at peace, could he?
Fine. If he wanted to stir things up, she’d oblige.
After all, there was no way to hide it from Claude forever; he’d find out sooner or later. Suzy shot a glance at Claude before fixing an expressionless gaze on Dylan. “So, Mr. Wright, are you here to reveal my past to my current employer?”
She raised her chin. “If that’s the case, don’t trouble yourself–I’ll say it myself.”
Her response caught Dylan off guard. He’d expected her to be terrified of Claude finding out about their past. But here she was, unflinching and resolute.
Before he could process, Suzy had already begun. “Mr. Claude, for the past three years, I was actually…”
But before she could finish, the butler rushed in, visibly flustered. “Mr. Claude, something’s wrong–Mr. Matthew has collapsed!”
At the hospital.
After two hours in emergency care, Matthew was finally out of immediate danger. Thought his life had been saved, he had suffered a stroke, leaving him with partial paralysis on his left side and unable to speak.
The Harlow Corporation couldn’t go without leadership. Despite his reluctance, Matthew was forced to hand over control to Claude.
Standing outside the hospital room, Suzy caught the lingering resentment in Matthew’s eyes. If he hadn’t tried to stall for time, she wouldn’t have needed to intervene. But despite everything, he was still Claude’s father, so she’d spared his life. Otherwise, after all he’d put Claude through, she would have had Allen send him straight to hell.
Turning her gaze toward Claude, she allowed herself a faint smile.
From now on, he would never have to endure anyone’s disdain again.

It had pained her deeply every time. She should have stepped in sooner. Even if he hadn’t wanted her help, she shouldn’t have listened. If she’d intervened, he wouldn’t have had to endure so many years of mistreatment.
As she looked at Claude, Dylan observed her from a distance. Though he was far away, he could clearly see the faint smile on her lips as she watched Claude–a smile born of genuine happiness.
So, her loyalty to Claude wasn’t only about advantage or duty… there was real affection there?
A sudden pang hit Dylan’s chest, sharper and more intense than before.
On the day Claude officially took over the Harlow Corporation, Suzy once again found herself running into Dylan.
“Quite dedicated, aren’t you? Even following him to the office?”
Desmond sighed silently and thought, “Sir, if you can’t find the right words, maybe just don’t say anything?”
“Of course,” Suzy replied, arching a brow. “After all, I’m Mr. Claude’s personal caretaker.
She paused, letting her words linger. “Surely, Mr. Wright understands what ‘personal‘ means? In fact, since we’re not pressed for time, let me break it down for you. ‘Personal‘ means being by his side 24 hours a day. So, yes, if Mr. Claude is at the office, I’m here. If he’s bathing or sleeping, I’m there as well. Satisfied with that explanation?”
Dylan stepped closer, closing the space between them, his smirk edged with irritation. ” Dropping all this detail–trying to make me jealous?”
“Oh?” Suzy tilted her head. “So, Mr. Wright, are you jealous?”
Before Dylan could respond, she continued, “But then, silly me–I almost forgot. Not long ago, you said I wasn’t even worthy.”
