Suzy was getting ready to accompany Claude to the office. Now that she was his personal caretaker, it was only natural for her to go wherever he did. While he went inside to change, she waited outside the door, idly kicking a pebble around.
Suddenly, a strong hand gripped her arm.
The touch was familiar–she didn’t even need to turn around to know it was Dylan.
He dragged her to a secluded corner, but before he could say anything, Suzy flashed a teasing smile. “Mr. Wright, seeking me out so early in the morning… missing me that much?”
“Suzy, don’t push my patience.” Dylan’s grip tightened on her wrist, his gaze as cold as ice. Feigning innocence, she replied, “Why the temper? I don’t remember doing anything to upset you.”
“Still playing innocent?” Dylan signaled to Desmond, who promptly handed him a stack of photos. In one swift motion, Dylan threw them in her face. “Don’t tell me that’s not you in these pictures?”
Suzy dodged back, catching a few photos as they fell. The images did show a woman who looked strikingly similar to her, but that wasn’t the issue–the real problem was that this woman appeared to be kidnapping Anne.
With a calm smirk, Suzy asked, “Tell me, Mr. Wright, what would be my motive for kidnapping Anne? After all, we’re divorced now. Why would I go to such lengths? Just so you could come and give me a hard time?”
“I’ve had the photos authenticated,” Dylan replied, his tone heavy.
“So?” Suzy’s smile remained, but her eyes grew cold. “Are you really convinced I’m behind. this, just like you were with the last kidnapping? Even though I was hurt worse than Anne, you still think it was all some elaborate scheme of mine?”
At the mention of that past incident, Dylan’s gaze darkened. “Whether it was a setup or not, you know the truth better than anyone. Suzy, you’d better return Anne unharmed, or else…”
She slapped the photos back against his chest. “The Wright Corporation owns Ashbourne City’s top hospital. Maybe you should pay them a visit–get your head checked. I’d hate to think you’re suffering from early dementia.”
With a mind like his, she genuinely wondered how he’d managed to grow the Wright Corporation so successfully.
For what felt like the hundredth time, she regretted those three years she had fought so

As Suzy walked away, the disappointment and disdain in her eyes were clear. Desmond couldn’t tell if his boss not leed, but he certainly did.
Unable to hold back, he asked, “Sir, you know the photos are fake. Why go after Mrs Wright
..I mean, Miss Frost, then?”
He caught himself. They were divorced now, so calling her “Mrs. Wright” felt out of place, but after three years of habit, it was hard to shake.
Dylan shot him a look, and Desmond quickly lowered his head, keöping quiet.
Dylan’s gaze shiffed back to Suzy, watching as she walked farther and farther away, his expression growing even darker.
Suzy, her mood completely soured, couldn’t slike her Irritation. She called Allen. “Look into that kidnapping incident I was involved in Was it staged by Anne as well?”
She already suspected the answer, From the moment she’d heard of Anne’s ” disappearance,” she’d pretty much pieced it together. She hadn’t planned to get involved, but Anne had crossed a line by trying to pin it on her.
To be honest, she didn’t consider someone as trivial as Anne worth her time. But Dylan believed it–just like every other time—and came running to accuse her without a second thought. The more Suzy thought about it, the angrier she became.
Having Allen investigate was just about gathering proof. One thing was clear: Anne had a real talent for digging her own grave.
