Chapter 0039
Dylan turned his head to glance at Suzy, his eyes holding a complexity she couldn’t quite understand.
Suzy noticed and thought he was about to say something, but to her surprise, he remained silent.
With a swift stroke, Dylan signed his name in a bold, flourishing script.
The documents were then reviewed and finalized.
The
her.
moment Suzy held the divorce certificate in her hands, a sense of relief washed over
Yes, she felt relieved!
Their marriage was like a prison.
A prison she had crafted for herself, locking herself inside for three whole years.
She vowed never to let herself make such a foolish mistake again!
As she exited the lawyer’s office, Suzy flagged down a taxi.
Seeing this, Dylan stepped forward and held the door she had just opened.
Suzy thought he was about to bring up apologizing to Anne again, but when he finally spoke, his words caught her off guard.
“It really wasn’t you who poisoned her?”
Suzy waved the newly obtained divorce certificate in her hand. “What do you think?”
After a brief pause, she added, “Instead of fixating on me, why don’t you go find the real culprit? Be careful–there might be a next time!”
She intended to use this opportunity to see who dared to frame her!
With that, she motioned for Dylan to step aside “I won’t be apologizing. After all, I owe her nothing.”
Her gaze was calm and unwavering.
Dylan was silent for a moment before saying, “I’ll give you Bayview Heights, and in addition, one million dollars as alimony.”
After all, they had been married for three years. Regardless of how things ended, he couldn’t let her walk away with nothing. Grace would never agree to that!
Suzy was genuinely surprised this time. “I appreciate your kindness, Mr. Wright!”

“Are you sure?”
Hadn’t she always been after his money? So why was she refusing to take a single cent now?
Up until now, Dylan had believed that walking away without anything was just a tactic of hers.
After all, she had married him for his wealth in the first place!
Otherwise, they had no prior relationship. It couldn’t have been out of love!
“Heh…”
His gaze and tone irritated Suzy. “I was sure before, but now…”
“I remember the law says that in a divorce, assets should be split in half. As far as I know, half of Wright Corporation is worth a lot more than just a villa and one million dollars,” Suzy responded.
You sure have a big appetite!” Dylan scoffed. He knew she couldn’t possibly walk away with nothing. “Be careful not to bite off more than you can chew!”
“My appetite may be big, but I have a strong stomach.” Suzy arched an eyebrow mischievously. “What’s wrong, Mr. Wright? Feeling reluctant? If that’s the case, stop pretending to be generous.”
With those words, Suzy yanked the car door open.
The sudden movement made Dylan take a step back.
She got into the car and, just before telling the driver to go, rolled down the window to leave one last comment. “Keep that villa for your Anne. After all, it was built for her in the first place!”
According to Anne, Bayview Heights was something Dylan had personally designed for her.
Just like his heart, which had always belonged to Anne from the start. No matter how hard Suzy tried, it had always been a futile attempt to claim what was never hers.
So, she didn’t want it anymore–Dylan included.
She would return everything to them!
The car roared to life, leaving Dylan standing there.
The force with which Suzy had opened the door surprised him.
He’d assumed her strength that night was just because of the alcohol, but now, sober, she seemed even stronger than before.

No ordinary woman could possibly have that kind of strength…
His phone rang-
Frowning slightly, he answered, “What’s the update?”
“Nothing. We couldn’t find anything!“.
“Even you couldn’t track him down?”
“That’s right, even I couldn’t find him!” The frustration was evident in the other person’s voice. “I, Victor Steele, always thought there wasn’t a soul on this planet I couldn’t locate. Never expected I’d meet my match with this guy named Allen Wheeler. By the way, what’s your relationship with him?”
Dylan ignored the question and asked instead, “You didn’t even look into it, did you?”
“I swear on my life! The moment I saw how stressed you were, I ditched the girl I was chatting up and got straight to work. And now you’re questioning me? Dylan, we’ve been friends since we were kids, practically grew up in each other’s backyards, and this is the trust I get?”
