Chapter 520
Lemira’s eyes glinted with sarcasm, making Asher feel a twinge of guilt. Eventually, he turned and left the room with Evelina.
Lucian stepped up to Lemira. “Lemmy, how about you sleep in the guest room tonight? I’ll have someone clean up your room.”
Caspian glanced at Lemira. “Did you know about Evelina’s plan in advance?”
Otherwise, how would Evelina have ended up in Lemira’s room unannounced?
Lemira’s eyes were cold. “How could I have known about Evelina’s plan? Let’s just say she faced the consequences of her own actions.”
She nodded towards the empty milk bottle on the table. “There’s a bit left; it could serve as evidence.”
As for the milk, she hadn’t drunk it. Most of it had gone down the drain, but enough remained for proof.
Lucian’s gaze at Lemira was complicated. He had a hunch that Lemira had anticipated Evelina’s scheme, turning it on its head so Evelina would taste her own medicine. Everyone had their suspicions.
Lucian spoke up, “Lemmy, you should get some rest in the guest room. We can deal with this tomorrow.”
Lemira turned and headed to the guest room.
Lucian couldn’t help but voice his thoughts, “Caspian, have you noticed how much Lemmy’s changed? She knew about Evelina’s malicious plot and could have stopped it, but she stayed in the bathroom, letting Zack
assaulted Evelina.”
Lucian was struggling to come to terms with Lemira’s indifference.
Caspian sighed, “Lucian, if Lemira hadn’t been smart, she would have been the victim today. I think she did the right thing. Evelina needed to learn the hard way.”
“But wasn’t it enough to just teach Evelina a lesson? Did it have to go this far?”
Lucian couldn’t shake the unsettling feeling knowing Lemira had let the situation escalate with Zack and
Evelina.
“Lucian, you’re too soft–hearted. Lemira did nothing wrong. We could report this to the police; they might find
more dirt on Eve
“Forget it. Calling the cops could ruin our family’s reputation. Besides, Evelina’s suffered enough.”
Caspian disagreed but didn’t press the issue. They’d deal with it tomorrow.
Lemira locked herself in the guest room, lying down on the bed. Thinking back to Evelina’s confrontation with Zack, she smirked. That “two–faced” girl must be furious.
What a show that was.
Lemira was too excited to sleep. She picked up her phone to find a message from Orion, asking her to text back
when she was free.
She replied, “Just finished watching quite the drama. You must be asleep by now. I’ll tell you all about it tomorrow.”
Almost immediately, Orion video–called her.
Lemira answered, seeing his face on the screen. “Still awake at this hour?”
His gaze was intense. “I was waiting for your reply.”
Lemira chuckled. “What if I hadn’t replied all night? Would you have waited?”

Chapter 520
“I might have camped outside the Langston residence.”
She knew he wasn’t kidding. Rolling over in bed, she said, “Didn’t have a moment to text you earlier.”
“What happened?”
“The ‘two–faced‘ girl tried to trap me, but she ended up falling into her own snare.”
Lemira recounted the night’s events.
When Orion heard about the tainted milk, his expression darkened. “I’m coming to get you.”
“No need. I’m not that naive. The only ally the ‘two–faced‘ girl had was Zack, and now he’s out of the picture. Her only support left is her father.”
That was precisely what Lemira wanted.
Orion’s eyes were steely. “I’m still worried.”
“Don’t be. I can handle myself, and apart from Asher, my other brothers are on my side for now.”
Lemira was determined to corner the “two–faced” girl.
Orion, with his lips firmly set, had already started investigating Evelina’s father but found nothing substantial. They chatted for a while longer before Lemira drifted off to sleep.
Hearing her steady breathing, Orion’s gaze softened.
He realized the car accident from years ago might not have been an accident after all. It was time to reopen the investigation. What was the Sinclair family hiding?
The next morning, Lemira woke up, stifling a yawn as she headed downstairs. She noticed a gathering of staff in the hall.
Curious, she asked, “What’s going on?”
“Zack took his own life in the basement last night.”
