Chapter 236
Their names finally came to me, Ian and Ethan. I just didn’t know which one of them was whom because I had not been paying enough attention.
They had different styles and the major difference between them was one had a large scar almost splitting his face in two which wasn’t uncommon, majority of the pack had scars all over them but it was harder to see one on someone so young.
“We’re okay.” The one that I had been watching said quietly.
They were really small, but that was beside the point. Their eyes told a different story.
“Well, you’re not sparring as the instruction said. Is there a reason for that and is there anything I can do to help?” I asked softly, or as softly as I could.
This was Stephan’s stronghold, it wasn’t mine and my Beta never failed to remind me to be gentler with my words because apparently, they triggered more than actions.
“W–we’re brothers.” The one without the scar said and I nodded my head.
“Would you like to spar with someone different then?” I asked again but they both shook their heads, the identical action creeping me out for a moment.
“No one will want to spar with me.” The other brother whispered and I was about to respond when Stephan’s voice reached
my cars.
“That’s it for today. You all did a great job, I’m really proud of you. Take a break tomorrow and we’ll see here the day after. He said and the majority of people scattered around the field began making their way out of it, including the twins I had just been talking to.
“Strange boys huh?” Stephen called and I hummed making my way towards my car.
“They mostly keep to themselves and their uncle, th
“They have an uncle?” I stopped to ask and Stephan rolled his eyes before responding.
“Do you even pay attention to all those interviews you do? You know that’s the best opportunity to get to know the pack members. Outside of that, you might not get the chance to again” He said and I frowned.
“I don’t think I would forget the face of those boys. I could barely remember their names minutes ago and when I did, I couldn’t differentiate them but I’m pretty sure if I had an interview with them I would remember.” I insisted, trying to remember if I had actually done one and just forgotten about it.
“Well, when you get to the office you could go through the files and see if you recognize their names on any of them. I don’t think they would be moving freely if they didn’t have a pass into the pack, so I’m sure you’re just missing out on something.” Stephan said and I nodded.
“Umm, Arthur?” Stephen called and I paused with my hand on the door to my car before turning to face him.
He looked uncomfortable which was really rare for a man like him.
“Is there a problem?” I asked and Stephan looked away trying to avoid my eyes. An action that made me even more curious.
“I was hoping I could take the evening off, you know, get off a little earlier today.” He said and I frowned, turning completely
to face him.
I knew where this was headed, I knew what his next line of requests would be and I knew the exact reason he wanted to take the evening off and the anger that I had worked so hard to get rid of during the course of the training began bubbling in my
stomach once more.

“Is there a reason for that?” I asked even when I knew it.

“Well, you know I promised Jessy I would give her a little tour around the pack later today. I was hoping I’d be able to do that early enough, you know before the sun goes down.” He responded.
I had no reason to deny him. I knew Stephen, he wouldn’t leave any of his work undone to do this, he would make sure that he was done with everything he had to do for the day even before three in the afternoon and he wasn’t the sort of person to take breaks often, in truth, I could count on one hand the amount of time it had happened. So again, there was no reason to deny him and it hurt more than I could explain.
“Whatever,” I responded, pulling open my car and getting into it. Ignoring his excited show of gratitude at my words.
This was going to be hard.
