Chapter 0686
It was clear that Raven’s married life was a happy one. No matter when Suzy saw her, she always seemed to be
smiling.
She could tell how well someone was doing just by looking at their expression.
Sure enough, Raven, practically glowing with joy, said, “I must’ve done a lot of good in my past life to end up with such an amazing mother–in–law in this one. She’s like a saint!
“Not only does she help with the baby, but she even does my laundry–yes, even my underwear!
“Since I got married, I haven’t washed a single piece of clothing, cooked a single meal, or even taken care of the baby for long. She’s always the one with the little one, only handing him over when he’s hungry.
“Once he got fed, she took him back. Honestly, I’m so bored most days that I just scroll through my phone!”
Seeing Raven so blissful, Suzy felt genuinely happy for her ‘Raven, have you ever thought about leaving the organization?”
“Boss, are you planning to get rid of me?” Raven’s cheerful expression faded in an instant.
“Of course not!” Suzy said with a smile.
“It’s just that you’re so happy now–with a loving husband a mother–in–law who treats you like her own daughter, and an adorable child.
“Your future should revolve around them, not the kind of life where you’re constantly walking on a knife’s edge. You know what I mean, don’t you?”
This line of work was dangerous, and they had made plenty of enemies over the years. Retaliation could come at any time.
Raven was one of the few in their group who had found true happiness, and Suzy wanted her to let go of the past and live as a normal person–spend time with her family and enjoy a peaceful life.
Raven understood exactly what Suzy meant, but…
“Boss,” Raven said, gripping Suzy’s hand tightly.
“My family is incredibly important to me, but… so are you. You’re my family too–along with Allen and Riley. You all were my family long before my husband, mother–in–law, and child ever came into the picture.”
“Raven…”
Suzy felt a sudden sting at the bridge of her nose, emotions welling up. She wanted to say more, but Raven cut her off.
“Boss, once all the dangers surrounding you are gone, I promise I’ll think about your suggestion. But until then, can we not talk about this?”
Suzy nodded, her throat too tight to respond.
Even if Raven were to leave the organization, it wouldn’t be now–not until everything was over and all threats were gone.
Her words moved Allen as well, and he couldn’t help but chime in. “Boss, stop trying to convince her.
It was not just her–if you asked me or Riley to leave right now, we wouldn’t agree either!

“As Raven said, you’re the most important family we have. If it weren’t for you, none of us would be here today. You can’t expect us to only stick around for the good times and not for the bad.”
Suzy already felt a lump in her throat, and Allen’s words nearly pushed her to tears.
No matter what happened, they had always been there for her, unwavering.

Her gaze shifted briefly to Dylan, who was lingering at a distance. Did he really think she hadn’t noticed him following them?
In truth, she had known all along when he was tailing her.
She just never confronted him about it.
Pulling her attention back to the empty grave, Suzy’s eyes hardened. “You’d better pray I don’t find you.”
With everyone working together, she refused to believe they couldn’t flush out the coward hiding in the shadows.
